Now now, I think we can say that 9/10 people love Groundhog Day. Kotow's just doing his part to assure that statistic.

Planning to see Groundhog Day tonight as well!
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

One of the cable channels here is showing it on a continuous loop today.  Moderately brilliant.

19 years ago today, my wife and I spent the day in the hospital, where she was giving birth to our daughter.  I was only there for moral support, of course, which meant hanging with her and watching TV.  USA channel kept running Groundhog Day all fucking day.  I like the movie, a lot, but give me a break.  A fucking marathon of the same movie all day?  Didn't occur to me until days later that Feb 2 is in fact Groundhog Day, so repeating it over and over fit some kind of theme I guess.  I'm sure it made sense to somebody there.

It took me a couple watches to really "get" Groundhog Day, but I like it a lot now, although I don't think it is that funny.  It's just a good watch.

Watched Zootopia with the wife.  Yeah, a "kid's movie" but the good ones work on multiple levels, and this was a good one.

Zootopia hit a lot of good notes and was very well executed. While a little different check out The Little Prince on Netlfix if you haven't already and are in the mood for an animated movie.

You're right. It's not a hysterical movie like Stripes or What About Bob. It has a more serious tone to it with the typical Bill Murray one-liners, which makes it great.

I hated Groundhog Day the first time I watched it. It was on HBO a lot a couple years ago and every time I watched it, it grew on me more and more. I really like the movie now.

Yeah, it's a good film.

The book is good too, but it is tech/military jargon-heavy.

It's a zombie movie? I've had that movie on my imdb watch list for years, but never ended up watching it. Sounds better than I expected from the description.

Lol actually I just read the summary and I'm not sure who wrote it, but they must have watched a different movie because the only thing they got right was the main character's name. I don't remember the main character witnessing a car crashing into a zombie and he doesn't have hallucinations. Anyway, it's a great movie. It's probably the best zombie movie I've seen this decade so far. I liked it more than Train to Busan (in case you don't know it, it's a 2016 South Korean zombie movie that got a lot of praise. It has a 7.5/10 rating with more than 40 000 votes on IMDb) and Dead Snow 2.

Ok, I watched this movie yesterday, and whoever wrote that summary is on crack. :lol
An enjoyable enough movie. The zombie genre has been done to death in recent times (no pun intended), so it's hard to do something unique at this point, but this had some good ideas in there. I liked the zombies, and the half zombie girl, and the first zombie appearance was cool, but in the middle I felt it fell into a bit of a lull of being a standard zombie movie, and not fully capitalizing on some of the ideas at the start. Then the end fight was pretty good to finish it off. There was some cool gore, but I would have liked even more. Japan does some great gore.
I also recognized several actors in the movie, including the fatter manga dude, and the half zombie girl.

Watched 'The Nice Guys' with Russel Crowe and Ryan Gossling. I thought it was great! Very entertaining and pretty funny actually. Gossling's character cracked me up a few times. It was a nice movie to watch with no expectations, the story wasn't exactly a Sherlock case but it still led the characters on different trails....all in all it was just a good movie IMO.

Have you seen The Machine Girl and Tokyo Gore Police? If you want a lot of gore, those 2 movies should satisfy you completely. 90% of the gore effects are practical too which is how it should be.

I love Japanese movies too.

Here's a list of the goriest movies I've seen if you're interested:

https://www.imdb.com/list/ls053820093/

Has a few other Japanese movies. It's in no specific order except the first 2. Nothing is gorier than those 2 movies.
