What 2016 movies do you guys recommend? Only very good ones, please.

::) I haven't got time to list 2,016 good movies. I'm not even sure i've seen that many in 38 years...

Just watched Mechanic Ressurection. Good action film with some very cool scenes. Jason Statham has to rank as one of the best action movie stars ever.

My personal top 5 right now is:
1. Snowden
2. Hacksaw Ridge
3. Captain America: Civil War
4. Swiss Army Man
5. Doctor Strange

Only finished watching Snowden a few minutes ago, so it might not keep that top spot forever, but right now my feeling is that I frickin loved it.

Star Trek Beyond is good. Easily the best of the 3 prequel movies.

I've seen about 7 movies from this year that I can think of, wouldn't call any of them very good though, mostly average to good. The last few years were much stronger imo. I expect Rogue One may actually be my favourite movie of the year.

I've seen 25 2016 movies so far. I have a lot more I know I'll want to see but I already have a pretty good top 10. But award season is coming up and that's usually when the heavy stuff hits, so I'm expecting lots of additions to the top 10 in the following months.

Finally watched Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Wonder Woman was pretty cool.

Is that the first Chris Nolan one ? Or an animated one.

The First Nolan one is Batman Begins  :)

Yeah I have to look twice when someone mentions " The Dark Knight Returns " as it's an animated movie.

it's because the latter movies are called The dark knight returns/rises. It gets confusing.

Well the Tim Burton one is called Batman Returns. The Chris Nolan one is The Dark Knight Rises and the animated one is The Dark Knight Returns.

The animated one is a direct adaptation of the comic series The Dark Knight Returns.

The 1989 Tim Burton film was simply Batman.

The sequel Tim Burton movie is Batman Returns though. I think Kotowboy just meant the Tim Burton movie that relates to the confusion, not that it's the Tim Burton movie. If that makes sense. :lol

Finally got to see Star Trek Beyond, it was really great. I like how they made Kirk a bit more subdued this time round, Scotty got a bigger role as it goes without saying seeing as Simon Pegg scripted it. I liked all three of these reboot movies, they were all fun movies to watch.

I love Beyond. It's the best of the three.

Just saw the 2016 Jungle Book the other night.  REALLY good.  I was skeptical, but the whole family really enjoyed it.  I might have to buy it and add it to the permanent collection.

I couldn't possibly rank the Rocky movies.  It has been SO long since I have seen them (I-V only) that they all blur together in my mind.  Plus, I saw them through the eyes of a teenager in the '80s, so I don't trust any recollection I may have of how good they actually are.  And I had an uncle that thought they were the best movies EVER.  Remember Eddie Murphy's sketch on Italian guys at the theater going to see Rocky?  That was my uncle.  And he isn't even Italian.  :lol

Steven Spielberg's The BFG.

Ehhhh. I struggled to stay interested. It's 2 hours long and it really drags. The nice visuals and acting can't really save it.

Prefer the cartoon version.

Oops.  I completely forgot about that movie (not necessarily a bad thing).

I also missed that the whole point of mentioning it was all the "Returns" and "Dark Knight" references in the titles of various Batman movies.

Well, Redbox has it now, so spring for the $1.50 to rent it and go fix that.  :)

I think Jungle Book should soon be on Netflix, so I'll be watching it as soon as it is. Heard lots of good things.

I really wish I had more money or I wish the Disney blu-rays were less expensive. They'd be great to own.

Too cheap.  I already pay for Netflix, and it will be there sometime in the next month.  :lol

I love that movie, I haven't seen it in a few years.

Speaking of Nolan movies I need to watch Memento, it's the only movie of his I haven't seen.

Didn't like his last two movies, especially Interstellar, but I have high hopes for Dunkirk.
