I am in the exact same boat as you.

My take on it would be, all of the great movies you should have already seen aren't going anywhere, and you are already invested in this character, so why not check out the next one?

But that's where I will leave it, because at the end of the day, they are just movies.

I love the Bourne trilogy, and the first one just gets the series going and I'll echo everyone saying the 3rd one Ultimatum being my favorite. There are some amazing hand to hand combats that you don't see much of in the first one. It's up to you of course but the story arc gets better as the movies progress and of course the action gets crazier as well. Doesn't hurt that the story works so well too.

Yup. See, that's exactly why I expect the first one to be more to my liking than subsequent versions. I'm not in it for action and fighting. I was interested in seeing one particular character aspect that seemed intriguing to me, and that has now been resolved.

There is way more to just the fighting El Barto.  The whole story arc is for him to find out who he is and will the government get to him before he finds that out.

Out of genuine curiosity El Barto, couldn't you say that about any movie series that are set in trilogies or series like Lord of the rings, The Matrix, Star Wars, Alien, Die Hard, Mission Impossible, etc..?  You know the premise pretty much straight away and the main characters..

Just got back from 'Inside Out' with the Family. Such a great movie! I was pleasantly surprised at how cool a movie it was. Not gonna lie.....I welled up a few times.....it was just a really well done movie IMO. And the concept behind memories and how they are handled once inside your mind was really neat also. I recommend the movie definitely for those of you with kiddos and I think it'd probably even make a good date movie.

Just got back from San Andreas. SO. MUCH. CRINGE.

Honestly, this was enormously cheesy. But these movies often are, I get that. But even the destruction CGI was poor and completely took me out of the movie for the most part. There were a couple of moments which were honesly well done, but overall this movie was simply not good.

I watched Kingsman last night.

Great fucking movie.
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Just watched Interstellar for the second time.

Not quite as intense as it was in IMAX, obviously, but still a damn good movie.

I would honestly put Inside Out well within my top 5 Pixar films ever made. It was magnificent. Definitely one of the best movies of the year so far.

I was a huge fan of Rise. I praised the movie to no end when I first saw it. I think Dawn beats it.

Same here. Two solid movies. The CGI and 'emotion' they gave the Apes in 'Dawn' was what did it for me. Such a good job in production there. I'm curious as to if the next in the franchise will be the 'war' between Ape and Man between the time that the space mission is gone? I think that'd be a cool thing to do....then follow it up with a fresh take on the 'original' when the Astronauts return.

I didn't mind The Purge 2 actually. Yeah it was weird, and no masterpiece for sure, but enjoyable enough. I never saw the first one though.

I liked that movie more than I should have. It probably helped that I watched taken 2 for the first time the night before and at least it wasnt that.

Yea it's very underwhelming, it's just shot to look super pretty and that's all it has for it.

Just like Purge 2, I didn't mind the 300 sequel. Waaay to CGI heavy, but the first one was too. And Eva Green was really cool in that movie, one of my favorite actresses.

Even thought the first 300 was CGI heavy, the story and style complemented each other. I thought it was a great mix and match.
