Watched Little Giants the other day. Super cheesy but I'll always love it.

Is that the one with Al Bundy and Vince Clotrho?

Yes, and it's awesome.

I think I only saw parts of it. Usually something with Rick Moranis I'll automatically watch. I'm not sure how I didn't see this whole movie yet.

I just watched The Grand Budapest Hotel. What an utterly brilliant film. I liked how it basically gave a big middle-finger to high-budget blockbusters. Not that I hate blockbusters, but this film was so different from any other new film I've seen for a long time. Relatively low budget, using old-style camera work at times (though I wouldn't say I had any sort of knowledge about film techniques)... I loved it.

It is a gorgeous film indeed!

One of the local theatres showed Drive at midnight and I've been wanting to see that and damn! That was intense. After the movie I just wanted to plow through the streets like a maniac in my Impala. I ended up suddenly reversing my car down about half a block and freaking out the dude in my car  :lol

Saw Oblivion again after seeing it first when it came out, such an excellent movie. I mean I don't know why I like it so much. I think the visuals, soundtrack and sound design along with the story really resonate with how scfi action movies should be to me.

Another movie I recently saw was Predators, I have to admit that again I really enjoyed it. I'm one of the few people who really liked Predator 2 and got the triple bluray set recently and hadn't seen the third one yet. It was very enjoyable with a lot of feel of the first one.

I started watching it with such high hopes but I just couldn't get into it. I usually go for those different kinds of films that are based more on story than effects. Maybe I'll watch it again another time.

Just finished watching it too. It could not compare to my two IMAX experiences that I've had with the movie, but it's still a solid flick from start to finish.

That Hans Zimmer score. Could quite possibly be one of his best, if not his best.

I like Predator and Predators, but didn't really enjoy Predator 2, a bit too goofy at times from what I can remember.

I watched Ben Hurr for the first time yesterday. Holy fuck that was a long movie. I fell asleep with 10 minutes left.  Pretty good movie considering its age.

The last few minutes put a real damper on it for me, but otherwise I thought it was very good for what it was, but not really my kind of thing.

Whiplash. I know some musicians and jazz fans loathe it but I personally thought it was brilliant.
Oh, and Exodus: Gods and Kings. Eh, Christian Bale's performance standed out and the CGI was good, but Ramesses seemed like a really cartoonish villain to me. Not at all a great movie but not as bad as I thought it would be. Just... Eh.

King Of Kings was on tv on Easter Sunday and they went from Jesus being tried - to his crucifixion - to

rising from the grave and appearing to his disciples in like 20 minutes :P

( I only aw the last 20 minutes )

We are a Christian family and my bro says I should watch The Passion but - I don't need to watch a

two hour torture movie :p

I know what you mean.  I think it is important to depict the reality of what Jesus likely endured, which so many such films tend to gloss over.  But The Passion of the Christ seems to just get gratuitous with it.

Which is a shame, because I absolutely love every other thing about the film.  It is beautifully shot, and the acting performances are fantastic.  I also love that it is shot in the original languages instead of English, and has English subtitles.

But man, the flogging sequence is hard to watch.

I got a bit sad at atheist people who said they'd only watch it to see Jesus tortured for two hours. ::)

Even if you don't believe in that - that's pretty childish.

It's like saying "Metallica suck. I'd love to watch a movie about Cliff that focuses on his crash and death cause fuck cliff !! "

Yeah, whether or not you believe in it, TPotC is a very powerful movie, and if you look at it as any other fantasy mythology or whatever, Jesus as a character makes the movie great if you try to put yourself in his position.

You know what's really funny about that? There are interview extras on the DVD, what Cage says about Christensen is unbelievable. I found a clip and trust me, the laughter will be WAY worth the 56 seconds of your time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBjJBn3qwFE
