Last movie I saw was Kingsman: The Secret Service. Definitely the best action movie I've seen in a while.

...my name is Araragi.

Kung Fury.  If you see no other film this year, see this one.

I have seen no other new film this year, and I'm feeling pretty good about it!

I didn't care for that much, another movie in a very similar vein I liked was 'This is where I leave you'

The theatrical cut of daredevil and it was worse than I thought it was going to be. I heard the Directors cut was MUCH better and I will check it out eventually. It felt like they just cut out all the plot and just kept the action scenes And sometimes those felt like they could be out of order.

The director's cut IS much better.

Still not a particularly good movie, though.

My friend started a movie/snuggle party group, and I hosted today now that I have more space. The theme (which everybody voted on) ended up being Nicolas Cage, so we watched Raising Arizona (which I hadn't seen in years and is so damn funny) and Vampire's Kiss (so amazingly absurd, and most of the group had never seen it so it was great to see their reactions). Good times.

Oh, last night I watched Phantom of the Paradise. Ridiculous and fun, great music.

While Meryl Streep delivered yet another wonderful performance in A:OC, I thought that TIWILY was by far the more enjoyable experience.  There were absolutely no likable characters in A:OC.

Just got back from Mad Max. That was some of the most absurd action I've ever seen, but it was fantasticly fun, just as I've heard.

Yeah, so fun.

As I mentioned on fb, those are glorious films.

Yesterday the family and I watched San Andreas.  Fun destruction flick.  Dwayne Johnson actually got to do some acting, the effects looked great for the most part, it wasn't a sequel or adaptation, and it featured Carla Gugino and Alexandra Daddario, who are wonderful actresses.

Also this weekend, I finally saw Interstellar.  It feels like I'm the last person in America to see it.  Wonderful film.

I haven't seen this yet. I've wanted to see it since the first teasers came out. I feel like I'm going to be let down by it. I understand the premise.. Earth has gone to hell and we need to go elsewhere. The commercials showed something like a black hole and then other worlds. I'm going to have a hard time believe that colonizing Mars wasn't the easiest solution (from both a technological and a financial standpoint). Did they acknowledge that in the movie?

Kind of.  To give more detail would ruin the movie.  Just watch it.

Hot Fuzz is such an awesome movie. I think I like it more than Shaun of the Dead and The World's End, and I like it significantly more than Paul.

I have not seen Paul, but I've seen the other two. I've always loved Shaun of the Dead but Hot Fuzz surpasses it. The World's End is not quite as good as the previous two, but it still holds up pretty well I think.

I think you'll like the movie. The only thing that may ruin it for you is if you've set your expectations too high or....and this may happen....you REALLY know the science behind some of this stuff and any inaccuracies that may occur bother you. But I can nearly guarantee that you'll be stunned and satisfied with the production/cinematography/visual effects.

Yeah, that was fantastic.

Last night I watched Silver Linings Playbook.  I thought it was a good film full of fantastic performances.  It also really hit home for us because my daughter has been diagnosed with bipolarism, and we saw a lot of similarities there.

Also, Jennifer Lawrence is amazing.

I think Bradly Cooper was awesome in that...he did such a good job! And you're right...Jennifer Lawrence was great in it as well. Got such a crush on that lady  :blush

Silver Linings Playbook was a weird one for me.  I honestly felt like it was kind of sloppy - for the most part it was fine, but there were a few parts where it seemed that they must have been rushing to finish a scene or something.

Still, a fantastic movie overall.

Jaffa

Regarding Bradley Cooper's acting in Silver Linings Playbook, I think he would've easily won the Oscar that year if Daniel-Day Lewis hadn't been in the running.

Saw the Wedding Ringer last night, mostly boring with some very few funny parts mixed in. I feel like if you're doing comedy then the serious bits hinder the pace of the movie and almost always feel forced in.
