I watched 30 minutes of A Million Ways To Die and had to turn it off. I haven't seen such lame, hold-your-hand comedy in a long time.

I watched it recently and found it surprisingly solid. I could have done without all of the swearing and the stupid dream sequence at the end, but it wasn't bad.

I saw Anchorman 2 recently too, and that was bad. Not a single funny joke in the whole movie, and it went off the rails at the end. Never saw the first movie, but wouldn't bother now.

I have the exact opposite view. And while seeing the first anchorman is not necessary it gives some context of the characters. Million ways to die was absolute drivel horseshit for me with one lame joke after the other.

Seth MacFarlane is a one trick pony.

the first Anchorman is pretty funny but i've heard the second one is poor.

Ex Machina - best movie of 2015 so far. I also saw Mad Max recently, that one would probably be nr.2 on my 2015 list.

I definitely want to see Ex Machina - good to hear that it seems to be as good as I hoped it would be.

Last night, we watched Joe with Nicholas Cage.  Wow, that was really good, probably Cage's best film (and best performance) in years, and really the entire cast did a great job.  Very engaging.

Got to see Lucy, it started out quite well but then it got very mediocre in the end. I think the movie definitely had a lot of potential to be something good, in the end it became a disjointed mess of a movie. 5/10 blah.

That's exactly how I felt as well. Started with soo much potential, but just ran out of steam. I expected a lot more from the director of 5th element.

Watched Gone Girl for the first time last night. One of my favorite movies I've ever seen!

Also watched a movie called All Is Lost. Quite interesting.

Agreed! He did an awesome job.

I watched Boyhood the other day. I really enjoyed it. I didn't absolutely love it and think it was the best film made in years like a lot of people seem to, but I thought it was very well made/acted and the concept was great.

Okay, now I know somebody posted about this but I can't seem to find it. I also watched Bad Boy Bubby this week. Fucking weird movie. There were some things I really enjoyed about it, like the idea of seeing the world from this dude's eyes who has never been out of his apartment before. But certain things I had trouble stomaching... surprisingly not the creepy incest, but the kitty abuse/killing. Ugh.

Now, if I have enough energy tonight I will finally watch (yes, for the first time) 2001: A Space Odyssey  :D

Saw Mad Max: Fury Road for the second time earlier this week, on Wednesday in fact.

I'm certain this movie will stick as my favorite this year, until Star Wars: The Force Awakens is unleashed in December.

I really hope the blu-ray will have tons of bonus content, because I would like to see how they pulled of all the practical effects and built the vehicles in that movie.  :hefdaddy

I saw an article posted on FB the other day that gave some info on how they built the vehicles. Not sure if it will be as interesting as seeing a doco on it, but I found it impressive.

Impressive, most impressive!  :tup

But yeah, I'm shure there's perhaps more information to be given from a doco on it.

Whoa. That was crazy. 5-10 minutes in I said to myself "Shit, should I have gotten high for this?" And I do NOT say that often :lol

Also saw Mad Max tonight. I liked it, but didn't love it as much as a lot of people do. Fun, for sure. With a good message.

In the last couple of nights, I've seen Neighbors and This is Where I Leave You.

This is Where I Leave You was much the superior film, but Neighbors was kind of funny, and had a few real LOL moments.

The wife and I rented  'ET' on demand tonight and watched it with our boys (5, 7 and 9 yrs) I hadn't seen that movie since I don't know when. It was neat to watch again....especially with my sons. They liked it and I enjoyed the evening as well.

The Jeff Goldblum one is awesome. So gross as well.

The sequel with Eric Stoltz is pure comedy. My bro and I watched it one night and we were in fits. It wasn't scary or anything - it was just hilarious.

The sequel is even more gross than the original.

Yesterday saw Draft Day with Kevin Costner.  Not sure how big the appeal is for non-NFL fans, but damn, that was a fun movie.

The Life Aquatic. Still my favorite Wes Anderson movie.

Moonrise Kingdom & The Grand Budapest Hotel were so damn good.  Just the right amount of quirkiness with suck strong writing and acting.

I agree. I actually found the more family drama Anderson movies like Tenenbaums and Darjeeling sort of boring even if they're a little more critically acclaimed.. His adventure ones are much more interesting.
