Since I have seen everything new, went back a few years to one of my favorites. No Country For Old Men. Never gets old. What a great movie. Outstanding performances all over. Plot great. Just A Cohen monster!

That said, since the super snow storm is apparently coming to me here in Jersey (believe it when I see it, not that is matters). Got my Stella (got a case Prog Snob, Staten aint far lol), Stoli, and Chivas and just cause I feel like it, going to smoke brisket, ribs and pork butt on Saturday in the snow for the games Sunday. Figure a Saturday of my annual LOTR trilogy.  Already got the neighbors kids paid $100 to shovel (long drive way and my 48 year old ass just does not feel like doing it) either way snow or not. I aint moving till Monday.

Continuing my "for the first time" series, Good Will Hunting!

My god, this movie was fucking wonderful.

Maybe I should put this on the list too.

Dude You will love No Country. And Good Will Hunting. A Masterpiece. Amazing the screenplay was written by Affleck and Damon a an early age. Williams is great as the rest are too. Check out No Country. A bit violent, but a well done movie

Good Will Hunting  is a top 5 movie for me.

M. Night Shyamalan's The Visit.  Uber-creepy.  Hopefully a return to form.

I really loved this film. The fusion of comedy and horror was absolutely perfect.

I watched Eyes Wide Shut last night. Like most of Kubrick's movies, it was unsettling and I'm not quite sure what to make of it.

Since we have been snowed in, we have re-watched Inside Out and the extended versions of Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers.

Inglorious Bastards. It was good, but out of the Tarantino movies I've watched so far, it's the second weakest imo. I'll get to Jackie Brown soon.

I thought it was dreadfully boring. The dialogue scenes were just so long and uninteresting, which disappointed me because the dialogue is usually one of my favourite things about his films.

We finally got around to watching Mad Max: Fury Road. I thought it was absolutely terrible. Yes the action scenes were impressive but I found the story and the acting to be terrible. Most over hyped movie I've seen in a long time.

We're also watching all of the extended editions of the The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. We've made it through the first half of Fellowship this weekend. I will say that the extended cut The Battle of the Five Armies was much better than the original.

I was browsing Netflix for something to watch and saw that Men In Black 3 was there.

So I put it on.

It was entertaining enough. Not as good as the original. Way better than the second one.

I liked Jermaine Clement as Boris. Unrecognisable. Josh Brolin did a great job as young Tommy Lee Jones too.

I've ended up watching it twice on TV, and it was a lot better than I was expecting. I quite enjoy it.

I love Jermaine and really loved him as Boris. He was...surprisingly unnerving. Like, genuinely creepy and unsettling while still being funny and chill. Very odd and well done.

Pretty much the same thoughts as you; I enjoyed the film a lot but thought it didn't exactly live up to the original MIB name but yeah, kind of consider the second one to be a misnomer so it blew that out of the water as far as I'm concerned. Good stuff either way.

Still think that with a little make up and some tweaks in his accent, demeanor, Brolin is pretty much Lee incarnate.  :lol :metal

Just watched a short by director Gareth Evans (The Raid).  He took three actors out to the woods to work on a short samurai film for the purpose of working on fight choreography.  It's pretty fantastic, and the music is perfect.

You can watch it here.  It's only a little over 5 minutes.  I recommend it.

Imitation Game.  Have not watched it in a bit and there is nothing new out there I have not seen. So I was flipping around Showtime and it was on. Man what a movie. Great movie all around. Then flipping around on demand and Whiplash popped up. I am a sucker for it even tho I own it.  Up next Spotlight.

The Revenant Great film, though can't say I would ever watch it again, very long.  I do think Leo deserves the Oscar!

Going to see The Hateful 8 tomorrow, travel time to this wide screen cinema is 1.5 hours each way, I hope it is worth it.

Has anyone seen Room or Spotlight?  They are next on the list.

I have seen all the Best Picture films. I think Revenant will win. Room and Spotlight are great films in their own right, as is Hateful. All great films.

You never saw that before today?  I'm surprised.  That's one of my favorite movies, though. I loved Christian Slater's character in that.

I thought you were joking but I checked and see he was in that.   :lol   I don't really like Star Trek. I gave it an honest effort and watched some episodes but it did nothing for me. SciFi is a genre that is hit or miss for me.
