The Pooh movie with them going off to that Skull Cave or whatever (only ever saw it in swedish as a kid) is amazing. One of my most beloved movies from my childhood, with some still hilarious stuff when the rabbit tries to read Christoffer Robin's letter covered in honey.

Saw Avengers:Age of Ultron yesterday.

Holy shit.

Avengers Age Of Ultron is on $650m worldwide already.

It's had the #2 highest opening weekend of all time behind the #1 - The Avengers.

Joss Whedon must be feeling pretty good about now.

Finally something that won't get cancelled !

Stargate

Kind of liked it, quite original idea, but hated the clichés. However, there seems to be a series based on it that continues the plot. If some of you have seen it, what do you think? Is it worth?

Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis are my favourite shows ever, and yet I found the original movie to be very average.
The show expands the mythology a lot, and has a lot of long running arcs with big payoffs. It is light on character development and interpersonal drama, but if you enjoy the big scifi stuff, it's pretty damn epic once it gets going. Depends on if that's your kind of thing. I wouldn't really compare it to the movie.

The show is really good, it's easily one of my favourite sci-fi TV series. So yes I would recommend it.

Ditto the above - I never knew you were such a huge fan of Stargate Blob.   SG-1 and Atlantis are really the only TV sci-fi series that have ever got me in hook, line and sinker.  Loved them and watched religiously.

Huge fan. Can't wait to see RDA and Amanda Tapping at Comic-con this year. Us Aussies seem to like our Stargate!

It was great! I got really sucked in and the time totally flew by, which is always a good sign. I've heard Escape from LA is terrible but in a very entertaining way, so I will have to get that next.

Just watched the horror film It Follows

Very cool ass movie. A very slow burn, which I liked and had really decent suspense. Did it completely knock my socks off? No, but as far as horror movies go, it was extremely refreshing and I will be adding it to my collection.

Still fun but not as cool as #1!!

I rewatched The Invisible Man's Revenge yesterday. Unfortunately not as good as I remember. I remember him stealing more people's blood (yet it was only 2), and not having such a lame death. He gets killed by a dog. wtf. Shittiest ending ever.

Watched The Babadook yesterday. I liked it, really messed with your head.

I also saw the new Avengers movie. Was pretty good, but it just didn't really grab me. All the one liners get really old to me.

I'm going to see Mad Max this weekend, I'm excited, I hear it's great!

Hard to come across horror movies today that are actually good. This one though didn't feel too much like horror, more psychological thriller perhaps?

Duh, I almost forgot. Last Monday some friends and I went to the local Alamo Drafthouse for this thing they call "Choose your own AGFA adventure." We were shown the first reel of five different movies, then had to vote on which one we wanted to watch the next week. We were shown some weird shit, but the winner was the my one friend and I voted for. It was DEVIL FETUS, a ridiculous 80's movie about... well, I'll just copy and paste the broken English summary from Amazon:

Quote
The Cheng, a rich family, deals with business about real estate in Hong Kong. During the Ghost Festival, senior Mrs. Cheng's second daughter-in-law bought an old jade from her highest bid at an auction sale. However, she changed a lot after that. One night when her husband returned without informing her, he found her making love with a monster that later turned out to be a creature from the jade. He broke the jade into pieces angrily and his body rotten after the dense smoke disappeared. He then jumped out of the window and died. When his wife also committed suicide on the seventh day of his death, the senior Mrs. Cheng got a wizard to have an enchantment in order to release the souls from suffering. During the enchantment, the wizard found out the woman was pregnant with an evil fetus. Fearing this might bring misfortune, he asked them to cover the coffin with yellow charms and warned them not to touch or move any charms within the coming 12 years.11 years later, when the grandson Kwok Kuen and his girlfriend Ngon come back to the old house to pick up the senior Mrs. Cheng, they enter his uncle's room as Ngon is curious at those charms. The charms are moved and strange things come to pass one by one from then on...

As you can imagine, it was wonderful.
