Thread title says it all.  It's not a general movie thread, or talk about films that are going to be coming out later.  Just tell us the last film you saw, and discussion should follow.

Last night the family and I watched The Judge with Robert Downey Jr and Robert Duvall.  Wow, what a great piece of film work.  A fantastic cast working working with a good script and getting good direction is usually an enjoyable experience, regardless of the story details, and this was that.  It hit home a little for me because it dealt with issues like declining health and death of older parents, things I have had to deal with, and it dealt with them in a real, human way, not the normal Hollywood bullshit.  I really can't recommend it highly enough.

Interesting - never heard of The Judge but I love Robert Duvall.

Last I saw was Kingsman at the movies - loved it.  Like Bond meets The Matrix meets Austin Powers.

Kotowboy

Last film I saw in the cinema was probably Interstellar.

KevShmev

A Fish Called Wanda

I had never gotten around to seeing this, but finally did so recently, and it had me howling more times than I can remember.  Kevin Kline absolutely deserved the Oscar he won.

Yes! That is my favourite comedy of all time. Kevin Kline and John Cleese are both amazing in it, though my favourite part of it is and will always remain when Michael Palin's character has to assassinate the old lady and keeps killing her dogs. :rollin :rollin

Yeah, same here. Wow, what a good movie. Thoroughly entertaining. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a good action flick.

The scene when he's trying to practice saying sorry in the car is gut splitting!

We saw Big Hero 6.  What a fun movie and heartwarming.  I will forever fist pump like Baymax.

 :lol, that movie is great.

Last movie I watched was Jackie Brown (finally), which was very good but maybe a bit too hyped up. Also recently watched Foxy Brown, which was amazing  :lol

KevShmev

Too many funny lines in A Fish Called Wanda to recite them all.  My stomach hurt from laughing at the Vietnam argument.

"They kicked your asses real good!"

"No they didn't."

"Oh, yes they did."

"Oh, no they didn't."

:rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin

As for Jackie Brown, I probably know that one by heart.  So much killer dialogue.

Kotowboy

I also liked " Fierce Creatures ". It wasn't as good as Fish Called Wanda but it was still entertaining.

Just watched that one, really enjoyed it!

Zook

Insurgent was pretty good. I'm sure Cinemasins could rack up over 100 things wrong with it, but it was enjoyable. There was one WTF moment for me that didn't quite make sense, but it helped the plot along so whatever. I probably do enjoy these movies more than The Hunger Games, but they're pretty much the same thing.

Um, if you know the twist of The Maze Runner, you might roll your eyes at this movie's ending...

ThatOneGuy2112

I work at the theater, so spoiling the ending for pretty much every big movie out for myself is rather unavoidable.

The last movie I actually sat down to watch otherwise was Big Hero 6. Excellent film.

Jaffa

Weird sci-fi/horror movie called Slither.

Zook

Wasn't Slither more of a horror comedy? I've only seen like 5 seconds of it.

Shadow Ninja 2.0

Wasn't Nathan Fillion in that one?

Yeah, probably.  I don't know.  I didn't find it particularly funny, but it was probably trying to be.

Me and a couple friends went to see Get Hard. It was good for what it was, If you have seen the trailer then you know what you're getting.

Directed by James Gunn who made Guardians Of The Galaxy.

Saw Focus today - throwaway stuff really that tries to be too smart for its own good.   I thought it had its moments but it's more DVD night stuff.  Anything with Margot Robbie is worth a look though  :heart

Accelerando

I'm catching up on all The Fast and The Furious movies to get ready for this weekends new film. Just finished Fast Five, and about to throw on Fast and Furious 6. These are solid flicks

BlackInk

Only heard things and seen clips from Fast Five, and it seems pretty dumb. I saw 6 in the theater, and it was also really dumb, but I love Luke Evans, so at least there's that.

Genowyn

In theatres, Interstellar. I also watched X-Men Days of Future Past on bluray.

Nekov

Dark Castle

Watched Little Giants the other day. Super cheesy but I'll always love it.

Icebox is my fucking idol  :heart

Finally saw Whiplash. Man, that was intense.

I've just watched a number of them too - didn't think I'd like them but within the context of this type of movie I thought they were pretty decent and not as revhead-centric as I expected.

The ad for 7 is on TV at the moment and if Vin says "family" one more time I think I'm going to hurl :lol
