I'm going to be going out of the country soon and I won't be able to keep up with this. When it all started, like 6 or 7 weeks ago, I figured it would be wrapping up by the time I left. Tomorrow will be a full two weeks since the last round's results were posted, and the first two took no less than 9 days. I understand that you're in a busy time and I hope you get through it all alright, I'm just going to have to sit the rest of this one out.

Well to be fair, sometimes people are incredibly slow at sending things. When I ran my roulette, I eventually gave up early and called it quits, because even though I devoted an hour or two every day to listen to the songs sent, people couldn't set aside 2-3 minutes to send a song, and waiting can get really tedious.

Yeah, that's the awful part. I guess it's easier if you post all the themes before starting round one.

But, well, you can always publicly shame them on the thread title... :neverusethis:

t h a t ' s  a  f i n e  e x c u s e  b u t  I  a m  g o i n g  t o  h a v e  t o  q u i t  o n  y o u.

Fuck, you literally just sent your best song. I've been flooded with schoolwork and if this wasnt that crowded of a year I'd probably finished this roulette already. Ah well...

Anyways,Round 4 Results!

Sacul: Bent Knee - Way Too Long

Eh it was okay but that EEEEEE chorus is really irritating. It just feels like they forgot to write lyrics. The song itself was okay. 5/10

Zantera: Submotion Orchestra - Thinking

Damn I liked this way more than I thought I would. I had free tickets for one of their concerts last year but there was an age restriction. But yeah really cool song I’d like to see them live some day. 7.5/10

Onno: Agent Fresco - Paused

This really reminds me of Dredg. Pretty tight instrumentation and vocals. I quite like the melodies and just how nicely the song flows. 8/10

Senecadawg2: Sarah Fimm - Mercury

HOLY SHIT. This is great. Kinda following up my hype for Susanne Sundfor, this Sarah Fimm song was excellent. Not quite poppy but i really loved the melodies and Sarah’s vocals. Probably the best song of this round. 9/10

Tyrias: Guro Von Germeten - Fa Fa

Uh yeah,I’m sure you were curious what I’d think about this song. :D  This was by far one of the most annoying songs I’ve heard. It was so fucking catchy yet so DAMN annoying. I seriously hate you for sending me this :D Yeah this is easily the catchiest song this round. But not in a good way. Still,i’ll give you a 7 not for the song but for the horrid song stuck in my head. 7/10

Lucien: Frost* - Toys

This had a Neo Prog tag on it so i expected to hate it but yeah you surprised me. It was a good song. This was pretty catchy! I quite liked the vocals and the guitar sounded great. Not much else to say really just a solid song. 8/10

Tom Bombadil: Angels & Airways - Everything’s Magic

Kind of a U2 ripoff,i’m not that huge on U2 anyways so I wasn’t too into it but yeah just like that fucking hilarious Fa Fa song this was catchy. But this time not in a good or bad way. It was just kinda bleh. I don’t really have much to say. 5/10

Rattlehead:The Faint - Posed To Death

Oh shit I remember being recommended this album! Well, this sounds like the punky and distorted cousin of Radiohead’s Idioteque. It’s not too bad but nothing that amazing. It was an enjoyable listen. 7/10

LieLowTheWantedMan: The Olivia Tremor Control - Jumping Fences

Short and fucking sweet. This really sounds like a crossover between The Beach Boys and The Beatles and is the fucking catchy. I LOVED this song and at I’m really surprised with how well you’re doing with this roulette. 9/10

Scorpion: UneXpect - Words

Sounds like Neo Oblivicaris lite to me. The instrumentation is quite nice but the vocals lacked personality imo. They sounded a bit uninspired. The wankery part was quite cool too but there’s nothing catchy here to my ears. It was an okay prog metal song though and I kinda liked it. 6.5/10

Rankings!

LieLowTheWantedMan - 36
Zantera - 32.5
Onno - 32
Scorpion - 29
Rattlehead - 29
Tyrias - 28.5
Senecadawg2 - 27.5
Lucien - 24
Sacul - 23.5
Tom Bombadil - 22.5

LieLow is still on the top! I still can't believe how well he's doing. Anyways, since Senecadawg2 is out,the next round will have only 9 contestants. The theme of the round will be chosen by you and for you...by the other contestants besides Tom Bombadil because he's at last place Here's how it will work.

Tom Bombadil picks Sacul's theme.
Sacul picks Lucien's theme.
Lucien picks Tyrias' theme.
Tyrias picks Rattlehead's theme.

you get the idea

Also, post the themes on this thread so that everyone can see the incredible themes we get. (Indian Hip Hop is allowed)

Lucien, your song has to be originally written after 1970 - so no classical nor baroque this time nor modern interpretations :neverusethis:.

I know, it's evil, but we're on the bottom the list so we have nothing to lose :lol .

This is actually the worst score I ever got with this song, and you're definetely the first one to call it annoying. I think this was the only song I ever sent that got a perfect ten, but well, I'm glad you can't get it out of your head and hate me for sending it :xbones.

I'm really going to have to think on this round, I gather Lolzeez is not actually the biggest fan of power metal.

As for Rattlehead's theme, I'm gonna be very generous and completely asshole-y at the same time. How, you ask? Well, I'm generous because I'm giving you a choice of two themes, you can select the one you like better. I'm an asshole because the themes are as follows:

1) Send something that would fit in really well on a Ballermann party on Mallorca. If you have never heard of Ballermann, it's where Germans (and many other Europeans as well) go to drink lots of cheap Sangria, do many things they will probably regret later on, and collectively listen to party music most people cannot stand when they're not completely blackout drunk. Since I'm rather nice, here is a one-hour video of Ballermann Live performances: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFS_UjYbpmQ (Come to think of it, I know some people who would consider this torture :lol) Lyrics can be in English, but the music should really fit into this scenario. Some checkpoints to fulfill: Simple beats, lots of synths, repetitive lyrics you can still song along to when you find it impossible to form a whole sentence because you're so drunk, also, lyrics should be either about drinking lots of alcohol, the woman (women?) you want to take home with you this night and love forever (or at least until you forget about her because you can't remember anything ybout last night) or little red ponies. Preferably all 3 at once, and including lots of "Lalalalala" melodies, so drunk people don't need to know the lyrics.

2) Ambientgrindunicornpussy-corestyle. The unicorn part is especially important.

Have fun

Ok, I admit I probably overdid it with these themes, and since the goal of a roulette is to find something Lolzeez could enjoy I'm giving you a third option.
3) World music. Which is pretty much a term for folklore music from all over the world. If you don'thave any ideas, there is a thread on this board about world music.
