Hey people! It's been a while since i've last been fairly active on this site and I say it's about time I come back to my favorite forum. This is my third roulette and I haven't invited anyone yet. Hell,I forgot I was gonna run a third roulette till I was messaged about it! But anyways, just tell me if you wanna participate. My music taste has changed greatly through the past couple years and some of you have introduced to me some of my current favorite bands. Heck,I didn't even know about Post Rock before I came to this site. That just blows my mind. Anyways, the rules are simple:

1.Check my Rateyourmusic before sending songs please. I want to hear some new music and be introduced to some new bands. My rym account is: https://rateyourmusic.com/~Lolzeez
2.Don't send music from a band that has been sent before unless the style of music is way different.
3.Just have fun

Okay,if you wanna participate, just reply below. I wont be able to respond today,I have an Opeth concert to go to.  :metal But talk to you guys soon!

I think I did alright in your last roulette, if I remember correctly. Maybe I can get another shot at it?

I was somewhat doubtful if I'd have enough music to send at first, but I think I'll manage. Count me in ;)

FIRST ROUND!

Just send me anything you think i'd like or just something that you enjoy. Also, you can send me YouTube links but you can also just tell the
Artist/Song Name/Album so i can look it up on Spotify and stuff. Results might be late, since it's my exam week. But I'll try to do my best.

Sent! Since you mentioned going to an Opeth concert in your first post I figured a few growls wouldn't hurt you :D .
Also, can we send songs from artists that have very few plays on your lastfm? (say, under 10?)

Sure,go ahead. But there may be exceptions where I have to ask for another song.

Excuse the flood, but i also PM'd couple people from previous roulettes of mine, asking if they wanted to join. So yes,it's still possible to join!

Also,I love how I gave one of my current fav songs of all time a 5/10 in the previous roulette.

LieLowTheWantedMan: The Smiths - There Is A Light That Never Goes Out

Here's a band that I can never "get". Much like Joy Division and The Cure. The vocals are pretty average and the song just isn't anything special. It's better than most of The Smiths songs I've heard but still, nothing special.

5/10

Round 1 Results!

Scorpion:Dog Fashion Disco - Silent Film

Very Mr. Bungle-ish. The music video was also pretty damn cool. My problem with most Mr Bungle-like bands is that there’s a lot to digest and it kinda ends up making the music a bit forgettable. Besides that,it was a short fun song. 7/10

Tyrias:Eluveitie - A Rose For Epona

A huge turn off for me is folk elements in metal. It just doesn’t work for me. The vocals were quite a stand out though. The chorus was pretty nicely written. But like I said, the folk elements made it quite cheesy. Still, not too bad. 6/10

Senecadawg2:Sonus Umbra - Palestinian Black

Wow this was hard to sit through. I mean yeah, great musicianship but no much lasting appeal. I liked the flute though. But still, kind of a pain to listen to more than once. 5/10

Zantera:Cardiacs - Bodysbad

Oh my god,the chord progressions and time signatures in this is fucking crazy! This sounds like Pixies being covered by some obscure prog band. Not huge on the vocals but it was an enjoyable listen albeit a bit overly silly. 7.5/10

Lucien:Dmitri Shostakovich - Symphony 5 Finale

Sorry, not huge on classical music. I really tried listening to pure classical but for me it has to be either Modern Classical or just no classical at all. This was okay,it got a bit old halfway through though.the calm section was nice but it just drifted my attention elsewhere. So yeah, classical doesn’t go well with me. 5/10

Sacul:Destiny Potato - Love Song

Lol at the band name. Anyways I sensed a bit of a Pop Metal vibe from this. The riff sounds very Devi Townsend-y but overall it comes up more like Amaranthe for me,i just can’t dig it. The Djent elements is a huge turn off for me. I’m not huge on the whole Pop Metal thing anyways,if i wanted some artsy pop,i usually prefer the dreamier and quirkier side. (Björk,St Vincent,Kate Bush etc.) But enough said, the song was okay for the first listen but it got me really bored afterwards. 4/10

Onno:Shining (Norway) - I Won’t Forger

I thought this would be the Swedish black metal Shining lmao. But this was quite cool. I wasn’t too huge on the song but the punk-y and the proggy vibe was really badass. The sax was also excellent. More listens really helped this grow on me. This was quite the fun song. First discovery of the roulette! 8/10

Tom Bombadil:Umphrey McGee - In The Kitchen

They are talented for sure but this sounded a bit too safe. Decent chorus though. That was kinda catchy. But other than that, not much going on that interested me. 4/10

Rattlehead:Cursive - Let Me Up

This was okay but a bit forgettable, all i remember is the weirdly placed organ and the decent lyrics. I’ve heard many good things about Cursive though but i think it was all on an older album though. Still got some hope in Cursive and will check out the older stuff. But this song? Not too huge on it,it was okay. 5/10

LieLowTheWantedMan:Mazzy Star - Fade Into You

Holy shit, best song this round EASILY. A really simple, dark and melancholic pop tune. But it still sounds fresh and innovative more than 20 years later. Sounds very Cocteau Twins-y.which I quite like. But yeah this was a quite good song. 9/10

Rankings!

LieLowTheWantedMan - 9
Onno - 8
Zantera - 7.5
Scorpion - 7
Tyrias - 6
Senecadawg2 - 5
Lucien - 5
Rattlehead - 5
Sacul - 4
Tom Bombadil - 4

Kind of a bumpy start but that's just how all my roulettes have been like. Hoping for more discoveries in the following rounds.

-Discovered Bands-

Mazzy Star
Shining (Norway)

ROUND TWO! FIGHT!

Okay so just send me something depressing to since i've been going through a lot of shit lately and need some new depression music besides the same American Football and The Cure albums. The results to this will arrive faster though I promise. Good luck!
