Shit...when did seneca pass me for first place?

Considering his lack of activity recently, a long fucking time ago. :lol

My first roulette was his first win, so you're welcome I guess!

Were you like 12 when you ran it?

18 I think. So comparatively, yes.  :lol
You should have seen how tiny my banlist was for that one.

Is that what they call it where you are? Puberty usually takes care of that. ;D

And surely no one is happier than you.   :lol

Well, some of these playlists were over 3 hours long. I really struggled at times to truly separate songs by the same artist. The Mastodon round was tough, but the BTBAM round was really the most challenging to get through. The intensity of the music and the harsh vocals...I was ready to swap them out mid round. :lol

That said, the Devin Townsend Round was fantastic, and I've been watching Devin on youtube right through the roulette. The Haken and Neal Morse were really pleasant surprises, especially the Haken.
And I loved the C&C and Opeth rounds. I am on those old Opeth albums for sure.

So what you are saying is the real winner of the roulette was you!  :metal I mean, that's the whole point of a roulette. To gain an appreciation for bands that you may have originally written off or never got around to in the past.

Well, in this roulette, it really was a service to me, but that was only because of the concept. I like to have roulettes to connect. This roulette had a bunch of people that I haven't had yet, and that was really cool.

I've been planning another roulette for a while now, but it's still a long way away from coming into fruition (not that it's going to be particularly complex or anything). Mainly, I want to get to know more of the artists that I discovered in my first roulette, but that's been a slow process since I have so many different hobby-related things I want to do all at once. I could probably try it this year, but it'd be sometime in the second half of the year.

You know what, I'll bite and start a roulette soon since I'm on vacations, I've got until March before college begins, and I'll probably be stuck at home with this covid resurgence, so what the hell, let's do this. This time it will be a very simple roulette for everybody's sanity, mine included :lol

Generally, at least in the past, we've always allowed for up to 3 roulettes to run simultaneously. However, it's been a while since we've done that, possibly because of roulette burnout on some peoples part.

I've participated in every roulette since Train of Naught's 3rd roulette back in 2017 (so 43 roulettes.....am I counting that right? LoL. Plus I've run 3), but I'm a roulette junkie, so....

Having said all that, I would love to join your roulette when you start it.

Yeah, it's just been a while since three people wanted to host simultaneously.

I've got you at 39, but I don't count roulettes that are abandoned rather than properly finish, and I update the list when a roulette finishes, so that doesn't include Sacul's latest yet.

Speaking of this, I feel I should go ahead and give some closure on my album roulette that I abandoned a little over a year ago.

Unfortunately, I'm not ever going to finish that one. There are a few reasons: One of the participants has since left the forum, so that's a logistical challenge. I've bought and listened independently to a couple of the albums from the suspended round, so it can no longer be scored fairly. But most of all, it would ultimately be uncomfortable for me to resume that particular roulette because of the personal tragedy that caused me to suspend it.

I'm too busy right now to run a roulette, but I hope to do one again someday. When I do, though, it will be a fresh start.

This is all very understandable. And considering what you went through, I wasn't expecting that roulette to be picked back up.

If you do decide to run another one, though, I'll be there! The roulette whore that I am... :metal
