Wow, a lot of interest! I like.

Looking at current roulettes, they are all rounding up pretty soon, so depending on whether orcus or Sacul will go off hold again I'm up either after all the current three or after one of the mini roulettes by Bolsters or Tomi. As I have a busy exams period after Christmas break, I'll probably wait until mid/late January if I'm up by then.
Edit: I checked the OP of your last roulette.
Mostly accurate, but I did check out a lot of new music between then and now. And I'm also removing some names from that list of bands that I checked out a couple of songs of and didn't want to get sent (mostly bands from my first roulette that I ended up being too lazy to check out). But you can rely on that list for the most part.

I was thinking I'd have a busy time next month, but then realized I'd also have a busy January and February and March etc. so better if I get started soon, I have almost everything sorted out :P

There might be an open slot around then. I will probably be starting around mid/late January aswell if everything goes to plan, so it depends on whether orcus chooses to start between now and then or not. I will more than likely be interested in joining yours, should have a couple of decent things to send.

My roulette won't start soon, I signed up for "sometime in the future".
So I should be sending Train on ahead of you?

Yep. I'll probably wait until February or so and see if there's free spot then.
I just checked my v1 thread, can't believe it lasted for 5 months :o

Hello kids,

Been contemplating hosting another roulette since the start of lonestar's, and I've made up my mind. Bolsters, put me on that list for a v3 . I want to do an elimination style roulette too this time around, with around 10 players. If anyone wants to sign up early lemme know here or in PM, and if there's gonna be too many people I'll do a round 0 elimination as well.
I saw this only now but I would play too

Stadler's roulette is done (i think?) and ariich's is in the last round, what's the holdup in getting some more of these started?  :corn

Technically I could start mine right away but it would be a bit of a slow start as I have a lot of stuff planned in December and school is pretty busy. But I always find lots of time to listen to music inbetween stuff so it wouldn't be a problem, got my format and banned list ready and stuff.

But I gotta respect the waiting list. When it's not sleepy time in Australia anymore Bolsters will probably start sending out PM's to the people above me on the list.

Me not being very active the last few weeks is the holdup. And for some reason I thought Stadler had two more rounds to go before being done. :loser:

Looking at the list and taking into account what people on it have said to me, Sacul and Train are now both up. PMs have been sent.

I'm relatively new around this particular forum and am in dire need of a big expansion of my musical palette that I just can't seem to accomplish on my own, so I'd love to do one of these at some point. I see various rules throughout each person's roulettes, so I assume that's completely up to the person running the roulette, the only universal thing is that each person gets a round? I'll chew on it for a while but yeah again I'd love to do this eventually.

You should probably read the first reply to the OP. It may clear up a ton of your questions.

The very first roulette (Orcus') is buried somewhere in the Archive Board.

I know a lot of people usually suggest participating in a few roulettes, before hosting your own. I know you are doing just that so it's all good. You just get a better idea (at least I did) of what you like and don't like when constructing your own. It's a great way to get new music and actually, even better, you get to know who on the forum is on the same musical wavelength as you. I actually think this has helped me discover the best new music. I trust certain people's recommendations and if they are talking about how good a band is I'm more likely to check them out.

Yeah, I'm going to participate in a few before doing my own. I see some incredibly diverse musical tastes here and am already hearing stuff I'd never find on my own (good stuff, too) so that's great :)

I've been kicking around the idea of doing one eventually as well. Figured I would participate in a few first, learn the ropes, get my feet wet, etc etc.... Seems like a fun way to find new music.

Easily 1/2 (prolly more) of my music discoveries over the last 8 years have been thanks to DTF'rs.  Hence the first sig in my block.
