Will you be doing the same ban system via RYM? I want to start researching bands now...
Yep, the same rules as last time. Any songs on an album I've rated (including compilations/"best of"s) are banned, any other songs are fine even if it turns out I know them.

When you get a chance, shoot me a PM with a list of songs you like but haven't rated.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

If I had such a list, I would have already used it to check out and rate the albums those songs were from. I don't get many submissions like that, although Crow sending some of Elton John's hits in my last roulette capitalised on a big oversight of mine.

Two questions.  Are you picky about audio fidelity?  I have one song in particular I'm thinking of trying, but as far as I can tell it only exists at this point as a low bitrate video on Youtube.  Second, are you ok with sending you MP3 files?  I have another artist who the songs I would want to send from don't exist on any streaming platform.

I can accept any format really, but my preferred is Spotify and my second is mp3 (which I can add to my Spotify local files and then sync up for offline listening alongside other submissions). Definitely prefer mp3 to Youtube.

And yeah sound quality does matter to me, but how picky I am probably depends on how bad it sounds and how much it affects the particular style of music. Low bitrates tend to make things sound very flat to me, whereas I like the opposite.

Ok, so MP3s for the one should work.

The other was professionally recorded, is acoustic, clear, and dynamic, it's just an old 240p Youtube upload from a site that no longer goes back far enough in the archive to get the original higher resolution MP3.  It's just too cool not to give a try though, and if it's a 20 minute block, it would be only about a third of it.

You know what, I think I might be ready to go sooner than I thought I would. Not 100% sure if I'll have the OP ready tonight, but most likely tomorrow at the latest.

All songs need to be the song Surrounded, by the band Dream Theater, released on their 1992 album Images And Words.

But just the intro keyboard part, pitch-shifted in various ways. Followed by the note from 3:27-3:33.

Ok, I've got a format typed up, and am limiting to 12 participants. I will be having genre rounds (jazz/blues, foreign language/indigenous, and pop/rap) so please have something in your arsenals specific to those rounds. I think I'll start after Litho and Tomi finish, they're both close it seems..

I am so in on this. I haven't had the chance to play in one of your roulettes yet. I think your last one was right before I joined the forum.

Tomi's is effectively done, we're just waiting for him to post the results of the final round...any day now.

That leaves three active roulettes, ariich's, Crow's, and mine.  Given the pace so far I won't be shocked if ariich actually gets to his final round before I get to mine, I'm still in round 10 of 14.  I would estimate we'll have an open third slot probably in July for someone else (wolfking?, Evermind?, Lethean?)

I feel like I've unknowingly prepared my entire life for these roulettes, so I have plenty of ammo to unload.  How are you determining the 12?  Prelims?  First come first served?  Coolest avatars?

It'll probably be first come..we'll see how it goes. I just can't handle more, my listening is limited since I don't listen at work, yet I still want to keep it to a round a week-ish.

I'd love to play and would have no issue sending stuff from any genre really. But if it's first come first served, I can't guarantee I'll be online at the right time.

Prelims might be another way to do it if you get too many people wanting to participate.
