I'm so going to regret this...I know nothing about wrestling. I'll break my roulette cherry with you, Alex.

Wait...what?

I will be gentle, I promise.

Gentlemen and Owls, the Iron Sheik!

I have a signed pic from former satellite talk show legends Opie & Anthony (& comedian Jim Norton) with the Iron Sheik. The Iron Sheik was so drunk that he pissed his pants, apparently didn't know/care, and took a photo standing up with piss all over his pants. I'll try to find the photo and share.

Wrestling: grown men clad in ludicrous stage wear indulging in napoleonic behaviour, boastful threats, and deliberate acts of contrived mindless violence.

Think death metal minus music.

So... I'm thinking of doing my next roulette soon. I'd been thinking of spring and probably would have wanted to start sooner, but lockdown has thrown everything up in the air and with having to do childcare it's harder to get serious listening in. However, things are feeling a bit more settled now, there's not much imminently coming up in terms of TV shows I want to watch, and so I think I'd actually like to crack on.

I've mentioned before but this next one is going to be simpler and more inclusive - no eliminations, no themes, and as many people as want to take part. Should be fun and more relaxed than my last few.

I miiiiight be in. I'm a little fatigued with roulettes and I don't know if I have much to offer you anymore, ariich, but I've heard over 100 albums that came out in 2020 already and might have some stuff you'd enjoy. I'll do some digging, if you'll have me. (every time I say that it feels like I'm offering courtship  :lol)

You can court me any time. :eyebrows:

But seriously, you'll have so much stuff that you like/love that I don't know. One of the reasons I want to do something more inclusive this time, with no eliminations etc., is to give everyone who plays a chance to just try things out. There'll still be scores and rankings but I plan to give everyone equal focus (whereas with eliminations there inevitably ends up being a focus on the final few). So I'd very much like you to play!

:lol I just realised how that came across!

What I actually meant was, it was a conversation between you and Stads either in my last roulette or one of the other ones happening around the same time, about eliminations and about preferring roulettes as a way of exploring each other's musical tastes, etc. It got me thinking about people who either keep getting eliminated right at the start (King, romdrums and Stads are some of the biggest victims there) or who get in but don't get too far and I don't end up getting much music from them. So this time I want to get an equal amount of music from everyone.

Yeah roulettes with no eliminations are rad, sometimes I've found that the bottom players end up sending a banger or two in the last rounds and that makes me happy I kept them through the whole thing.

I think if I do another roulette, it's going to be strictly NON-ROCK/METAL/PROG. I've been toying with that idea for a long time but I don't know if anybody would be interested in that. I'd love to run a roulette where people submit literally anything but the three most typical genres here (coincidentally, also the three genres I'm most tired of listening to). Jazz, funk, r&b, rap, pop, country, western, classical, video game OSTs, film scores, anything.

That gif is "I'm out"

I've got a handful of things that could/would apply, but highly limited.  Probably less than 200 songs and few dozen bands.

Indi, I'm thinking of a way to do it. I already listen to loads of new music every week so I'm trying to figure out how to juggle both in a reasonable and fair way.
