Easily Galaxy Class for roominess, luxuriousness and the medical bay seems to be able to cure almost anything. I'm sure Beverly could cure my tinnitus and whatever else.

And of course holodeck and ten forward to hang out.

Actually ten Forward would be f---ing amazing if the ship was at warp. Just standing by the windows looking out.

You'd see a bright white light in front of you and nothing else of note. Near light speed travel or warp drive travel would both look pretty boring due to relativity and color shifting. It would be a cool thing to see once, and then every other time you travel, it would look the same.  The cool stuff would be when the ship is in sub relativistic speeds.

I've just downloaded some IES files for lights to use in my 3D scene. Now I'm looking up stage lighting to see which lights to use.

No, a game can't do this kind of thing in realtime. This is just for making my own videos.

I remember seeing those. I tried watching Star Trek...I just couldn't get into it as much as I would have liked.

I remember seeing those. I tried watching Star Trek...I just couldn't get into it as much as I would have liked.

It took me a bit to get into it, but now I've seen every episode. Star Trek varies so much that it also depends on what you've seen. Aside from TOS, every Trek series' weakest seasons are the earliest couple, which makes it hard if you watch them in order.

I'm very happy with how this lighting is coming along now. I'm not even trying to stick exactly to the lighting on the show, since it varied so much anyway, I have my own look in mind.

I see what you mean Blob. The first few episodes I watched were dreadfully slow. I preferred the episodes with Picard over Kirk.

The original series is very dated now, and there's a lot of cheesy stuff, although there are some genuinely great episodes in there too. I prefer TNG overall, but the first two seasons of the show were overall terrible. It continued to improve greatly after that. Since there's not a lot of serialization in those series, you'd be better off checking out some of the most liked episodes first, if you were so inclined.
