Love Omni! I really prefer the last two records over most of the older stuff, but these are more "prog" and less "power", so that could be why many fans don't appreciate them that much.

And call me crazy, but I think Fabio is the best Angra vocalist, no doubt.
It sounds like, "ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk." Instead of the more pleasing kick drum sound of, "gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk."

I think my top 5 Angra albums are these two I mentioned, Temple of Shadows, Holy Land and Rebirth. I gravitate much more the their prog metal side rather than the more power metal side.

As far as the vocalists, I think Andre and Edu are fantastic, but I enjoy Fabio's vocals the most :metal

From Angra's Facebook:
Today we celebrate 10 years since the release of our seventh studio album, “Aqua”.
Recorded between February and July / 2010 at Norcal Studios in São Paulo, “Aqua” had two singles released: “Arising Thunder” and “Lease of Life”. The album revolves around the play "The Tempest" by William Shakespeare, which tells the story of Prospero, an aristocrat who has supernatural powers and who was exiled to an island due to political disagreements. There he causes a shipwreck and brings his enemies close to him, thus executing his revenge.
In August 2010 we also started the Aqua World Tour, which started in Brazil and passed through Japan, the United States, Taiwan, Italy, Chile, among other countries.
To celebrate these 10 years, the album is being remixed and remastered by Brazilian producer based in Los Angeles, Adair Daufembach. The first single in the new mix is The Rage Of The Waters. Soon it will be on streaming services and is already available on our official YouTube channel (link in the bio!)

YESSSS!

Yeah, Aqua wasn't great.  Not really caring about this.  It might make me revisit it though.

Angra is preparing the release of their next album, entitled "Cycles of Pain"
"Cycles of Pain" brings different perspectives on human pain and the cycles that involve it. While pain is inevitable, it is also an part of growing and learning. By recognizing and facing these cycles, we can discover our inner strength and find a path to healing and transformation. It is an invitation to reflect on the complexities of human pain, addressing topics such as loss, disillusionment, loneliness and despair, but also bringing a message of resilience and hope.
The combination of elements on the cover - an angel of death with bright, worn wings adorned with religious and pagan symbols, a dark forest with fire and rain, the prevalence of Brazilian elements - conveys a representation of the idea that pain is a recurring and transformative experience, encompassing spiritual and earthly aspects and encouraging us to delve into the depths of our own pain, explore its many dimensions and find strength and healing in the journey of these cycles.

It is my pleasure to share with you the cover of Angra’s new album, Cycles Of Pain!  The artwork was made by Erick Pasqua with layout by Jonathan Canuto. Also in the great news department, we’re pleased to announce our new record label for Europe and America, Atomic Fire! We’re pretty excited about this new partnership. The album will be released November 3rd worldwide and November 1st in Japan by JVC.

Definitely it's a bit of a call back to their more power metal days, but still with some killer prog instrumentation. The production sounds awesome!

The band recorded a new acoustic live album the other day, which included two songs from the new album. Any ideas on when this will be released? It most likely won't be this year, though, with the studio album coming very late this year.

Angra is in a great phrase! There's a great material in their history, no doubt, but I'm not a saudosist of the previous eras. Honestly I like more their present sound.
