It hasn't exactly clicked with me yet, and as a result of that it currently sits near the bottom of the album for me, but still above Spirits Will Collide (bah).

Yup this fall will be the real Empath tour with a band and Haken opening for him in Europe. Would love for him to bring this tour to the US.

I think he said he's got plans for a NA tour after this upcoming Europe one, but nothing's been finalized yet. The backing band would also probably be different, too.

I finally got a chance to listen to Empath; I really like it. Not what I expected at all, but still it had all the elements that I like from Devin, and even the one's I don't are used like spice, sparingly.

I'll need to give it a couple more listens, but it'll get those additional listens.

Devin Townsend kicks ass! I have really been into Empath and Transcendence lately. The only other thing I own is Z2. In any case, wanted to check out something older so I made a random purchase of an older album. Accelerated Evolution. Holy crap, it's insanely good! I like it just as much as the new stuff that I've already been into. There's not a weak song on this album.

I never was a fan of Synchestra, but you really cant go wrong with any of those others. I'd also add Ki and Ghost for something different, but equally awesome. Or if you want the best Devy album get Casualties of Cool, again very different, but amazing!

Thanks for the suggestions! I did end up checking Addicted!, Ki, and Epicloud. Liked them all (probably Epicloud the most). Only listened to each once so far yet, mostly because I can't stop listening to Accelerated Evolution. Once that wears down a bit I'll be more open to all the other stuff. There hasn't been anything I didn't like yet though. Oh, and I listened again to the bonus/demos discs from Transcendence and Empath today. Those are good too.

Oh Haken is a big draw for me, but definitely will keep in touch. I've been hoping for a long time Haken would support Devin in the US, and once they announced Diego would take double duty on keys for both bands, it seemed likely.

Not a huge DT fan (only from lack of listening... but what I have heard I like), and Never really listened to Contortionist (heard great things), but this is a show I am going to *try* to go see. It's stacked well enough that there's no way I would have a bad time

Now I gotta convince my buddy, who can't stand Haken but is intrigued by DT, to go, as I don't wanna drive all the way out to DTLA solo.

Stadler, Adami, myself and I can't imagine axeman or Nick would miss Haken plus being a Saturday makes it easier. I really do hate going to Brooklyn but if I plan on doing both shows, it does make it slightly closer to getting up to Boston the next day.
