Just watched the documentary, really cool, I have one burning question that someone may be able to answer. Guitarist Dave Young (I think that's his name right?) looks really familiar and it took me a while to place it. If anyone has ever seen Slayer's DVD War at the Warfield, there are sections where hardcore Slayer fans are being interviewed. They interview one kid (and he looks about 16) which I SWEAR is Dave. Anyone ever seen this? Anyone confirm it's him?

I just skimmed through the DVD on Youtube. I think I found the kid you're looking for:
https://youtu.be/wyFeQGXytb8?t=635 at the 10:35 mark.
He does look a little like Dave, though I doubt it's him.
Dave's a pretty chill and quiet dude. This kid looks and sounds like a young Adam Sandler.

Yea that's the kid. Stick a beard on him and it could be Dave. I agree that Dave does seem to be a quiet kinda guy but that could totally be him. We don't know him at all so that could have been exactly how he acted at that age, plus who knows if he was under the influence of something when he was interviewed, pre gig or post gig. I seriously think it could be him. Dave's probably about my age as well which would fit.

According to Wikipedia(However reliable that is..) Dave's from Vancouver and would have been 19 when Warfield was filmed(Which was in San Francisco.). I suppose it's possible, but I don't really buy your logic of "It looks kinda like him therefore it must be him." :lol
I tweeted him that link to the video and asked if it was him.  :corn

Yea, fair enough. I'm not saying it's definitely him but I've always been good at recognising actors when they were younger in films/TV etc. It's obviously more likely that I'm wrong but I always thought he looked familiar from something I've seen and then it clicked that it was that DVD that I was thinking of  :lol

I find it really interesting how many of Devin's amazing tracks are bonus tracks or not on official releases. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking Cry Forever, Take My Ego, Thing, Ho Krll, Quietus, Socialization, Where You've Been, Aquarius and Perspective - among those is some of Devn's best material, but they are released in a way that the average Devin listener might never know about them.

Still wish he released Ghost 2 properly. Every tiny bit of music I've heard is just amazing. Even the snippet of "Coming Home" (still unreleased whatsoever) in his riffwork preview video from 2013 is amazing.

That new music from part 2 of the documentary sounds good too!  I'm definitely hyped about the new album now.  Sounds like DTP is back on track!

I haven't heard Failure yet, since I'm confident Devin will deliver a great album and am therefore waiting for the whole thing. I did, however, watch both of the documentary parts, and they are really awesome! RVP is such a great person.

I can't wait until Dev records that song. Someone in the comments section of that vid claims he performed the song at a Perth guitar clinic, anyone happen to know of the video he's referring to?

"I thought that too."

These guys are hilarious. I enjoy the last parts with them watching the vids.

I'm a casual Devin fan but I really like Failure.  I just love it when he solos, he doesn't do it anywhere near enough and he plays fucking well.  Will pick this one up.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

So it only just hit me that the end of Colour My World "You are a puppet! I am a puppet! We are all puppets!" was probably meant to be taken literally. Ziltoid is a puppet show. hence the Ziltoid sock puppet.

You know what else? The rhythm of that section is the same as the little electronic morse code bit at the end of Strapping Young Lad's Alien album. Starting at 11:18 in the track Info Dump. :)

Get it?  ;D

Don't dig this one as much as Failure based on first listen. Vocal melodies are very weak here.

This song is SO Terria.

This is factually incorrect, the proof being that I actually like this song.

Yea, this ain't bad. Very classic dev for sure, which is nice. And I'm really digging the new production. Hopefully the days where all vocals are essentially done by choirs of Dev, leaving no discernible lead vocals are over.
