Yes ! Both. I only buy CDs if there's a deluxe edition.

Ok. Not only. But if there is a deluxe edition I'll get that every time.

You get the two B sides. A remix of the first single and Freaky Teeth studio version.

I keep forgetting about You Know We Can't Go Back.

That's another very oasis song.

It's weird. This album is either Classic Noel sounding or really experimental.

:metal I LOVE " Do The Damage ". it's nothing revolutionary music wise but that chorus is SO catchy !

" Be My butterfly
please don't flutter by
Well do the damage kid
If love's what it's all about
A soul that is jumping out
Well do the damage kid "

Freaky Teeth rocks too. So many great songs on this album. As usual. He only does albums very three years but they're always worth waiting for.

Apparently Liam is planning a solo album. I read in an interview with Noel that he might consider writing some songs for him too.

A Liam solo album would be hilarious. I can't see noel writing though.

Liam would be too proud to accept.

Sounds like wishful thinking.

All of Liam's songs on the oasis albums were co written with Gem anyway according to Noel.

I realised that Paul Stacey produced the album ( with Noel ) and he played that David Gilmour-esque solo on " Roll It Over " -

- so it could well be him playing on Riverman.

Noel always did have the ability to make a great song sound even better live.

Great! I'll watch it when I have the chance :tup

It's a great gig but I am embarrassed by all the cavemen in the crowd shouting " FUCKIN ELL " in between songs. ???

Surely they should all be watching football and beating people up in the street ?

Hey Zydar - have you heard the Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants B-Side " Shout It Out Loud ".

It's ace. It's like a pre-cursor to "The Dying Of The Light" From Chasing Yesterday. Same Feel.

Yeah, I've heard it a few times. Good song :tup

But the best B-side from that album/era is Let's All Make Believe. It could easily replace one of the lesser album tracks, like I Can See A Liar.

High Flying Birds & Chasing Yesterday are both so good that I already can't wait for the next one...

*Hopefully* it won't be as long next time since CY was finished last summer but they didn't release it til this March. . .

But since Don't Believe The Truth - Noel has taken 3 years per album so...

"I'm already a bit of the way into my next record. As for what it will eventually say on the cover though remains to be seen."

This isn't the first time Noel has hinted that work on his third album is well underway. I'm guessing the long wait between finishing Chasing Yesterday and putting it out has meant he's accumulated some songs and the next album could be out in under 3 years this time ?

I Hope so. I LOVE the two albums he's put out so far and can't wait for another in that style.

I'll take another High Flying Birds album over a new half-arsed-only-in-it-for-the-money Oasis album any day.

I've come to the conclusion that Chasing Yesterday is indeed better than High Flying Birds.

It's a grower but all the songs just stick in your head and sound " fresher " longer. I think all the songs are very strong too.

If I had to rank both Noels albums along side oasis albums - they'd be in the top 5 for sure with Def maybe & Morning Glory and Don't Believe The Truth.

- - - - - Rumour - - - - - -

Because Chasing Yesterday took a year to come out - Noel says he wants to have his third solo album finished by the end of the year.

Hoping it won't be the usual 3 year wait in that case !

Noel Gallagher has posted a picture from the studio on Instagram.

He's writing in the studio for this album and says he has "About 6 or 7 songs done".

This could be the first album hasn't taken 3 years to come out like every other album he's done since Heathen Chemistry...

If he's in the studio now - I can't see it taking a further two years to come out :)

Late to the party on this, but HUUUUGGGEEEEE Oasis/Noel fan (and even saw Beady Eye in a club in Philly a couple years ago.  They came on, played 55 minutes, and out the door, but it was really good).

I sent "If I Had a Gun" to my (then girlfriend/now wife) and she and our kids make fun of me to this day.

You guys haven't menetioned the best of the Noel solo songs, though:  "A Simply Game of Genius".  Probably in my top three favorite songs by him.

I don't know if I should or will get the Oasis deluxe versions; I already have all the b-sides from the singles.   Same with Noel solo; I think the only song I don't have (and haven't heard) is "Alone on a Rope", because Amazon is a bunch of thieves.

I like a simple game of genius.

I love all the extra songs from Chasing Yesterday.

Freaky Teeth. Revolution Song. Both great.

I think I got all the extra songs from the first HFB too.

Can't wait for the next album :).

Oh and "The Dying of the Light" is this album's If I Had A Gun.

:)

Played the Sunday Morning Call single on a Sunday Morning.  I love Carry Us All!
"I don't know nuttin about nuttin" - Marshawn Lynch

The very soul of what was once real music is now lost in a digital quagmire of emotionless sonic madness.

I first heard Oasis in 2000, when the "Go Let It Out" video was on rotation.
For a long while I never cared at all about the band, but 2 years ago I decided to check out my younger brother's CDs (Stop The Clocks, SotSoG and Heathen Chemistry), and I found songs in each one that I like!

My favourites would be:

From SotSoG: "Who Feels Love?" and "Roll Over It" (that chorus!)

From Heathen Chemistry: "The Hindu Times" and "All In The Mind" (my favourite overall)

From other albums: "Rock N' Roll Star", "Supersonic", "Morning Glory", "Stand By Me", and "Lyla".

2. Force Of Nature
3. Hung In A Bad Place
4. Stop Crying Your Heart Out
5. Songbird ( Full Band Version )

7. Thank You for The Good Times
8. (Probably) All In The Mind

I'd have preferred this version. But with iTunes etc I can have it anyway.

Lol, today during Manchester City vs. Real Madrid, they show Noel Gallagher at the audience. Then the commentator from my country says: "hey, that's Liam Gallagher from Oasis..."
I thought: "don't insult Noel like that, goddamn".

At least, he had the decency to correct himself later  :lol

Liam Gallagher must be one of the most ungrateful rock stars ever. He just tweeted " FUCK OASIS " and threw more un-provoked insults at Noel...

Right. Aren't you a millionaire who never has to work or get welfare ever again ?

Isn't oasis the one thing that got you where you are today ?

Oh yeah and isn't Noel the one person who made that all happen - Rain sure were a big band before Noel joined !!!

Utterly ungrateful and spoiled.

Anyway - producer David Holmes has said that Noel has 5 songs finished for his next solo album and that they're really fun and upbeat ! :)

Looking forward.

And if Liam ever puts out a solo album it will be absolutely hilarious. He must be shitting himself but puts up a wall of " I don't need to do a solo album coz i'm not a cunt "

Maybe you don't but you *DO* have your own fashion line AND you went on a TV cooking show. . .

:rollin

Just Imagine Liam's reaction of it was Noel who did either of those things.

Golly Gee I wonder why noel doesn't want to reform oasis in a hurry... :lol

Liam is so transparent in hiding his complete lack of talent behind a massive wall of machismo.

Plus he had children with other women BOTH TIMES he was married.

Fucking Prick.

99% correct.  But only 99%.

I saw Beady Eye in a small, 700 person club, and while they only played the new album (and one cover) and played for literally 60 minutes on the dot (a short show for a headliner here in the States), Liam was MAGNETIC.  He barely moved, but he sounded awesome and you could barely take your eyes off him and he gave off a palpable energy.  I saw Noel in a slightly larger place (1500) a couple months after, and while there were better songs and it was a "better show" in total, Noel didn't quite have the on-stage, rock star charasma that his brother did.

He has that but in pretty much every other way - Noel is a better person.

I've never heard of Noel being unfaithful. Never mind having kids with other women both times he was married...

Noel is funny and intelligent and writes great songs and is a raconteur. He could be a comedian.

Whenever Liam talks it's just gibberish or to promote whatever he's doing next. And whatever he did before is now "shit" and this new thing "is amazing".

EDIT : Hey Stadler - who was your favourite oasis drummer ? mine was Alan by a LONG way. He just had the best feel out of any of them. Chris probably came the closest after that. **

I even met Alan's drummer brother Steve White at a drum clinic once. One of my drumming heroes. Pub Landlord Al Murray was the compere :D

• Tony McCarroll
• Alan White
• Zak Starkey
• Chris Sharrock.

** I'm not counting stand in's otherwise it would be Steve White - Alan's brother. But if we are then add Terry Kirkbride to the list.

I like Alan's drumming way better than the other drummers. I think Alan's drumming had a huge part in Oasis' signature sound during the What's The Story/Be Here Now/Standing.

Noel said that Alan would even suggest tempos and arrangements.

His playing did get really lazy towards the end though.

I don't know if it was his injury or if he was just tired of the band.

I think he got tired of the band and possibly from music. I haven't heard anything from him ever since. I wouldn't blame him if he felt that way. Being in Oasis must have been pretty stressful. Not so much about the music, but more on the business side and the personality clashes between the Gallagher brothers.
