Pretty okay song, but I was waiting for that big chorus that never came. It reminded me of "AKA... What A Life" in the verses with the danceable drum beat.

I'm sure it will grow on me.

I got a £15 iTunes card for Xmas so I bought all the singles so far. Deffo gonna get the deluxe cd edition since Freaky Teeth is a great song. Could have been a Bond theme.

In case you've not heard it.

a. ) Should be a single, not tucked away on the deluxe edition.

b. ) Should be a Bond Theme for sure.

Riverman is a nice opener.

So far it's really different - even compared to the last album.

Kind of like how Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants could have sounded if they had spent more time on it.

Lots of weird guitar sounds and a sax solo !

I hope that's Noel playing that tasty solo on Track 1. It's one of the best solos he's put on record.

EDIT : :o Wow - Lock All The Doors sounds like classic oasis.

Damn that new album's good!  This year keeps getting better musically!

I could only listen to a few songs on iTunes last night, I guess all the tracks are available if you pre-order?

I've no idea :(

It's out on Monday anyway.

Anyway I think its a good album. A couple of tracks are mainly just psychedelic jam tracks like the live version of Gas Panic! But that's cool. A couple of the

tracks sound like ...Morning Glory era oasis which makes me happy :)

Plus Freaky Teeth and Revolution Song are on the Deluxe Version.

Have you heard all the tracks? Do you find it to be overall better than the debut?

Awesome, that's my favourite period.

Yeah " Lock All The Doors " and " Revolution Song " were written when he was in oasis and never used.

EDIT : The same as " Stop The Clocks " was on the previous album. I guess a good song is a good song.

It's not *quite* as consistent but there are some great tracks and a couple of more spacey psychedelic jam tracks.

But being Noel - there are some cracking songs on there like Lock All The Doors and Riverman.

Yeah i'm so happy to hear that sound again.

I can't wait to buy the deluxe CD and have studio versions of Revolution Song & Freaky Teeth.

It's a great album. Parts of it are very Pink Floyd and sound like what SOTSOG should have been if they had the songs.

So. Just learned Lock All The Doors. Pretty easy. Once I figured out the song was in F - I was like " Capo 3rd fret Noel ?  ".

I don't blame him for making the songs easy to play.

Playing guitar and singing at the same time is a pain in the arse.

Capo : 3rd fret.

Verse : Bm. D. A.

Chorus : [D] Lock all the doors. [Bm] [A] Maybe you'll never find her. [G] I can be sure.... [D] ...This Time...

That's it pretty much :)

D - G - D - G for the end of the chorus back into the verse.

I don't know if there's a third progression under the solo because I haven't tried it. I just solo over that part myself

Including Lock All The Doors and Revolution Song as the B-Side to Ballad Of The Mighty I.

Okay, it's safe to say that this is the best of the two solo albums from Noel. For me it has more high points than the debut - Lock All The Doors, Riverman, You Know We Can't Go Back, plus a couple of the bonus tracks are all awesome songs. The Right Stuff sounds like it could have been on Shoulder Of Giants (a distant cousin to Who Feels Love?). Brilliant stuff.

Plus Noel has really stepped up his solo game. The solo on Riverman is very David Gilmour-esque.

As far as I know it's Noel - he's only mentioned Johnny Marr being a guest on the album on Ballad Of The Mighty I.

Freaky Teeth is another one of those " Why isn't this on the main album ?!...No sod that - why isn't it a single ?!?! "

So The Guardian said "Chasing Yesterday" is same old same old...

:lol

Yeah i'm tired of those sax solos that oasis had !

What are they talking about? Apart from Lock All The Doors - the new album sounds nothing like oasis and is even a departure from the first album.

They must mean " Noel singing and playing guitar AGAIN ".

If anything - the new songs sound more like Pink Floyd than oasis.

Oh and according to the album credits - there's no guest guitarist apart from Johnny Marr on Ballad Of The Mighty I.

Which means that nice Gilmour solo is all Noel :) .

" The Dying Of The Light " is beautiful. Probably the " If I Had A Gun " of this album.  :'( :'( :'(

Love the horns on " The Right Stuff ". Sounds very New York ? I see smoky bars somewhere in Brooklyn :P
