Tom Bombadil's Roulette v. COMPLETED
« on: September 26, 2014, 03:11:42 PM »
Hey everyone and welcome to my roulette. Being my first one, I'm going to keep it pretty straight forward: no eliminations, 1-10 scoring, probably 8 rounds. In terms of what to send, I'd probably just prefer youtube links, but spotify works to or I can give an email for mp3s.

A few quick things about my personal tastes: Harsh vocals are really hit and miss for me. Hopefully my banned list can give you some clues on that front. I definitely prefer music with vocals. Instrumentals are sometimes fine, but typically they don't have as high a success rate. I'm not huge on classical music, but I do like jazz. The only genres I really never listen to are country and rap, but hey if you feel like sending it go ahead. That's pretty much all I can think of at the moment.

That's a pretty controversial 'Danger Zone' list you've got there, sporting a few of the perennial DTF favorites. This should be fun!

I would love to but in a weeks time I will be at a managers meeting in Columbus Oh (Send me your jokes) and no computer.  Just my phone.  Dammit.

I'll still follow.

Yep, I have enough on my mind for now, so I won't participate, but I will follow too. Pretty interesting banned list you've got there, a lot of bands I love included. And six bands I like in your danger zone list, interesting indeed.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Your danger zone list is the equivalent of saying, "I'm not sure Bobby Flay makes good steak, but that Golden Corral place serves up wicked awesome steaks."

Golden Corral might be harsh since there are quality bands in your list.  I amend to "mid-range steakhouse you like".

Yeah my tastes make no sense. Given some of the bands on my list, you would think I would like most of them in the danger zone, but I never could get into them .

I'll try to send to tomorrow, or Tuesday. Work travels have my tied up.

I'm in.

Also, can you perhaps give an indication of what songs/albums from that 'danger zone' you've heard?  Those are some pretty heavyweight bands, and Queensryche is iffy because you've heard Q2k, or SB because of Feel Euphoria, or S-X because of their s/t, then it's understandable.

But, if it's because you didn't like Operation:Mindcrime, or V, or The Odyssey... well, there is no hope for you.   :lol

Ok everyone is in. I'll probably have results up either tonight or tomorrow at the latest.

Yeah I'll try to get something like this done soon, but right now its looking like I have no hope  :P
