Wow , just listened through my phone at lunch and it's awesome! :metal

It's very "iron maiden". Not bad.

New Jorn cover album promo-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHK2JXL4HqU

Hm. I always like Jorn more when he's doing someone else's songs, so I'll maybe check the album out, out of curiosity. Some interesting song choices, and some more typical ones too.

Boom! haha.

Yeah, I like the sound of it as I said in the other thread.  Was gonna post it here but the melodic rock thread was the first one I saw.

Would have liked a different Farnsy song, but what do you do.  Great to see Farnsy get some recognition.  Would love Jorn to do some Barnsy too.

Strange hearing Jorn singing Running Up That Hill, but nowhere near as strange as hearing him sing The Voice. :rollin

I'm not too familiar with Farnham, so I'm ok with him going for the obvious choice. I dug what Jorn has done with it. Here's the tracklist for anyone interested.

1. I Know There's Something Going On
2. Running Up That Hill
3. Rev On The Red Line
4. You're The Voice
5. Live To Win
6. Don't Stop Believin'
7. Killer Queen
8. Hotel California
9. Rainbow In The Dark
10. The Final Frontier
11. Stormbringer
12. Die Young

Surprised he hadn't already done Rainbow in the Dark, although Stormbringer is an old cover. It will be interesting to hear him take on Perry and Mercury.

Don't Stop Believin' will be interesting awell. This might be alright, for a covers album.

Jorn is a beast of a singer but do we really need another covers album?
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

With some of the nice song selections here, I'm gonna go with a yes.

Beats the alternative of hearing his original material. :lol

Only the last few, his early stuff is all quality.

Excluding his cover albums, I only have Lonely Are the Brave and Spirit Black, haven't bothered with anything since because the singles all sounded the same. Any recommendation?

I can't even remember what i have from Jorn but there's one called The Gathering which is like a "best of" from his early work - might be worth a shot Blob.

The Gathering is a good collection.

Both Worldchanger and Out to Every Nation are bloody stellar albums IMO.

I'll check it out. I don't think I've heard anything from his earlier stuff. I've always liked Jorn's voice, and it's a shame I've liked so little of his music.

Try either the two I said or the safe bet of The Gathering that Brent mentioned.

Traveller wasn't bad... though, anything would have been better than Bring Heavy Rock to the Land - that album was turd.

I'd rank them:

Out to Every Nation
Lonely are the Brave
Worldchanger
Starfire
The Duke
Spirit Black
Traveller

The Dio covers album was solid. Still prefer the playing and production on the original songs by a mile, but Jorn can definitely do justice to Dio.

It's pretty funny watching him sing pop while his facial expressions indicate he may be singing thrash  :lol

Fuck yeah, you should have saved this for my roulette!

This is weird, it's like they have no idea what they are trying to be.  The guitarist to Jorn's right is seriously fucking annoying.  Does he think he's in the Bay City Rollers or some shit?

That did nothing for me.  Good voice, but seemed a little one-dimensional to me.

And I'd like to know how he didn't fall down the stairs (around 0:45 in).  :)

Big 24 hrs for new releases .....amongst others Treat, Dynazty, The Defiants, Ace Frehley, Thunderstone.   I'll hopefully get a chance to check out most of them over the weekend.
