This seemed the right thread, if not I apologise. I'm visiting my parents' old house and found some original vinyl oldies belonging to the Big Banging Bro:

Definitely the right thread!  FYI, this thread has evolved from the original OP/title, to just be a "the coolest DTF'rs discussing damned good rock and metal music/bands"
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

Speaking of which... new Nordic Union track

Pretty safe and uneventful.  I'll stick check the album out when it drops.

Also, the thread title helps keep out the younglings that have to have "post" and "core" as the words used to describe *their* music.

Rock, Metal, and Roll are the only three words necessary to describe good - nay, GREAT - music.  Well... maybe add Prog into that every now and then.

Hey guys - hope everyone is well. A quick post on Ben's recent KISS related adventure.

Out the front of the Adelaide Entertainment Centre with his tix and passes to see soundcheck for Gene Simmons/Ace Frehley

A few nice shots that Dad took of the night (incl Randy Rhoads lookalike making an appearance )

Ben taking over the whole thing and giving Uncle Gene a laugh

Ben catching up with Gene after the show and borrowing his sunnies

  • Transform and rock out!
I went to the Sydney show of that on Friday night! :metal We all instantly pointed out the Randy Rhoads wannabe guitarist too. :lol Hey, if you're gonna rip someone off, rip off the best, right?

Was quite a fun show, and 2.5h of solid rock. Wasn't a fan of them bringing people up on stage. There was one guy who was trying to sing the entire song and not just the choruses. Luckily the mics were pretty much muted during those parts anyway and mostly for show.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

They're playing the Greasy BrewPub in New Bedford, MA. It's a relatively new place that is hosting 80's bands.  It's pretty small. I've never seen it, though I did grow up in that area.

This is really too much obscure to start its own thread, so I come to the sages for opinions about a pet peeve of mine.

Warrior Soul.

I liked them plenty in my teens, and I still feel they were way ahead of their time. They may also be one of the most significant historical sliding doors, as they could have been a great voice for the same generation x market that eventually elected the Seattle scene, transforming hard rock.

Your thoughts?

I have their first album due to rave reviews. Wasn’t my thing, though as you say they would have fit right in with the grunge stuff a few years later.

Never heard of them but just checked them out on youtube.  They have the look of a glam band, but are way too grungy for my liking.

Thank you, gentlemen. For those interested, the first 3 albums is were it's at.

It's a very peculiar brand of spunk and attitude, but pretty honest.

HAHA. Nothing beats Revolting Children as far as spunk and attitude. They're like 12 small Lemmys.

Have you listened to it?
