This is the title track from White Wizzard's new album.  Pretty crap album - although they have  a decent back catalogue in parts.

Anyway..............notice anything familiar about the first verse?  :rollin

Obviously a total coincidence........... :P

I have the other couple of Destinia albums and they're pretty patchy , but that sounds alright.

I actually listened to the new Lords of Black today and I prefer the sound of the Destinia if that is representative.   I think I am starting to get a little Romero'd out to be honest but will certainly check this one out.

I have the last Destinia and considered it for the last round of Kade’s roulette. As usual, Brent is on the money.

Not played the Lords of Black yet but Ronnie is risking John style burnout.

Nah... Brent is daft.  The new Lords of Black sounded excellent.

Sadly, older Destinia albums are not on Spotify to try out.  Wonder if I should trust you blokes to make a unheard purchase??

Look what came up in the side bar  ;D

I think Castro and Gioeli sound good together and the track is as expected for a single.   The cheesiness of the video gets a 10/10.

Truthfully, that wasn't too bad.  Oh wait, I had the mute button on.

Now I really did throw up in my ears.  I lasted 95 seconds.

When it comes to these Frontiers videos, besides Primal Fear, I don't think I've made it through an entire song from any of these bands.

Just listened to Bonfire's new release.  I thought I'd known a bit of them from back in the day, but apparently not.

I need recommendations / advice.

I had Don't Touch the Light and Fireworks from Bonfire.

All the songs were pretty solid, but nothing jumped out to me and stood out from the rest of the hair metal pack. Generic hard rock, but still pretty good. The song "sweet obsession" stood out to me but nothing on those records made me want to look into them any further. And I think those two albums are their most known/popular records.

So, this is more of a chat type post than a Hard Rock/Metal post....

Every couple of months, I spend a night youtubing Gary Moore videos. It's sort of a soul cleansing thing. There's no one like him.

I came across this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9M9zUQT1QYE

It's from George Harrison's final concert at Royal Albert Hall. It's amateur video of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Gary guests on this and FUCKING KILLS IT! What's awesome is the amazement and joy on Harrison's face watching Gary play. There's a great solo in the middle, and then an extended one to end the song.

I went and saw Europe in concert on the weekend along with 2,000 others in Melbourne and anyone who has been a fan should go check them out.  I was a bit iffy on it as I haven't been much of a fan of the reunion releases (more Zep/Purple style) but they played a great setlist covering all eras well , with a focus more on the older stuff if anything.   The newer tracks were some of the more melodic ones.

Joey Tempest - allowing for everything being tuned down as expected - was in great form and hardly hit a dud note all night.  Aside from a loss of his higher range he is still far more versatile than most of his contemporaries (Bon Jovi being a glaring example)  .  His unique voice is still smooth as silk .   Like most rock/metal concerts these days the lead guitar sounded like a laser weapon or something designed to cut through all the noise (pretty awful) but Norum was clearly in pretty good form.    Ian Haugland managed to make his toy size drum kit sound about 5 times bigger and he did a great , fun drum solo.

Joey Tempest in particular was very gracious and appreciative of the fans , making special note that we had waited 30+ years for them to come out and he actually took the time during one of the songs to come onto the floor and hi-five the guys and give the girls a hug/peck on the cheek.   Seems a really nice , down to earth sort of dude.

Set list below with a few brief video samples  (a few of the better quality ones.......my iPhone 5S camera/mic is shithouse unfortunately.   it sounded far,far better live)

WALK THE EARTH

I was a major Europe fan in the late 80's, yet I have never anything by them that wasn't on The Final Countdown or Out of This World. I will add them to my list in my 80's deep cuts thread.

Agreed.

@ Kev... Prisoner's in Paradise should be at the top of your list.  Their 2000s 'reunion' stuff is good-to-excellent.

The Good Times show would be more your thing Tim.  A bunch of old "rockers" from the 60's all together as a "supergroup."   Luckily it is sponsored by Australian Pensioners Insurance so they should be covered in the event that anyone on stage or in the audience finds it all a bit much.
