I had a look through that list, but I'm still listening through the podcast as there is still a lot I don't know.

That Riot track was really cool.  I only have Thundersteel and Fire Down Under from them and they are both solid.  This track is no different.  Mike DiMeo is awesome.

Always meant to check Sacred Mother Tongue due to Andy James, and I thought that was killer.

Thought you would like the Sacred Mother Tongue - another wolfking roulette leftover that would've done much better than some of the stuff I ended up sending :lol

I aactually could say that about a few here to be honest.   :lol

Cause, that Steve Grimmet was fucking awesome, loved that one.  The Human Fortress was solid too.  But I loved the Eldritch.  I only have one of their very first albums, but this song right here is fucking money!!

as expected, podcast #5 was the highest rated podcast by me (excluding the handful of tracks from the Drive album - a couple of the ballads, although competent, dragged it down a bit)

here are the songs I scored 8.5 or higher that I wasn't familiar with

9.0
In Malice's Wake - Eternal Nightfall
Crystal Eyes - Battlefield
Rondinelli - Time
Sacred Mother Tongue - Evolve/Become
Steve Grimmett - Afterglow
Defecto - Excluded
Mercury Falling - Queen of Pain
Gamma Ray - Heading for Tomorrow
Drive - Remember

8.5
Tyran' Pace - Night Of The Wolves
Damien Black - Sky Is Falling
Damien Black - Dead of Winter
Sanvoisen - What I Mean
Vicious Rumors - When Love Comes Down
Titan Force - Chase Your Dreams
Rough Cutt - Dreaming Again
Phenomena - No Retreat, No Surrender
Riot - Turn The Tables
Human Fortress - Schattentor
Snakeyes - Black And White
Jester's March - Rain Falls
Villain - Kamikaze
Kiko Loureiro - Enfermo
Drive - Dream Ceremony
Drive - Brujo

some of those could be moved up in rating with more listens

Not through the entire thing yet, but I feel like I've really enjoyed this one particularly.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

I'm up through the first Drive tune. I thought it was great. But definitely not a fan of Can't Stop Rockin'. The vocalist on that has a great voice though.
Love the nods to Catch The Rainbow in the Heading For Tomorrow mid section.

And everyone should have that Innerwish album by now. It's fantastic.

Try a couple of other tracks maybe - Livin In Hysteria , We  Got The Time , We Want It All................if you don't like any of them then the band isn't for you.

Currently listening to the Best of 1988 ..........it's taken me a year to not only research but put together the albums for this.  Thank God for the internet and digital media because if I was relying entirely on Cds it would've been nigh on impossible and super expensive to get the albums I was missing.

All the good feedback on this podcast has fired me up and I've spent lots of time the last few days and I already have the tracking/mixing done for both of the podcasts (60 songs in each).  Now just need to do the fiddly stuff - getting the timing right , intros, fades etc....so it sounds at least 10% professional  ;)

What a year 1988 was!

Oh, and everyone should be required to post a picture of themselves in 1988 in honor of Brent's 1988 podcast.

Especially JJ! ;D

In 1988, I couldn't have cared less about music.  There was nothing that I listened to actually.

My only focus in 1988 was Mike Tysons Punch Out, Blades of Steel, Mario Bros and Tetris.

Getting that live Saxon first day. Plus they are back in the studio for their next album.

One of, if not the most consistent metal band.

Will post more podcast thoughts tonight too.

Wasn't a huge fan of the Fair Warning and Scatterbrain, but I appreciate the variety.

Really liked the Defecto, another one to check out, great stuff there.

The Metal Church is a pretty solid album.

Liked the Snake Eyes, helped Brent get the win in my roulette

That Innerwish is indeed a fantastic album.

The Jester's march was really really good, great old school prog here.

The Sunburst and the Mercury Falling are both excellent.

The Villain is solid but I didn't really like the Heaven's Gate.

The feature album was solid but didn't knock me over.

Brent, no offense but what the hell was with that Heading For Tomorrow edit!!  I might make one for you and send it to you.

I no doubt could've played around with it and done something that wasn't so sudden but in the end I just took the hacksaw to it  ;D   It's way too long , which is a shame.

You could no doubt do a version where you cut out a portion of the midsection and a large portion of the outro and make it sound more like it was intended that way.  I just couldn't be stuffed  :lol

I use to like doing shit like this with songs years and years ago.  I might give it a crack if I can get some time.  Don't bother with the live Hedaing For the East version then Brent, it's like 25 minutes long.  :lol

I picked it up on the weekend.  Saw it at JB for 18 bucks.  Only listened to it once and there's a couple of nice songs, but it's pretty crap.  You'll think it's absolute shit I reckon.  Gonna give it a few spins though, there is some nice different ideas but not much to get you going really.  Shame, I fucking love Kai.

Love the soft intro, love the crunchy riff but the chorus to me is too much the "wall of sound".........or wall of mud.

But yeah.....much better than the Frontiers special we had earlier
