I played it at work (as background music), and I'm listening now with headphones, which is a much better listen.

I forgot to listen to it on my earbuds today while cutting the grass, but I'm giving it a second or third listen now and I'm digging the songs more than my initial listen.  It's amazing how consistent the band has been over the last six records.

As for the new Crue, it sucks and I agree with the comment about it being generic.  I loved the title track to Saints of LA, but haven't cared for anything else.  I remember really liking New Tattoo when it came out.  I think Nikki kind of forgot how to write kickass Crue songs after going full-on contemporary radio rock with Sixx AM (which I never got into).

If anything, it takes a couple of songs to get going but it hits a sweet spot in the middle.

I don't know anything about Halestorm but their singer Lzzy Hale sang for Skid Row last night and will sing for the next few shows.  She did very well, but the only option from this point is Sebastian.  Mind boggling if they bring in someone new, at this point it has to be Sebastian.  I read he was going to send them a nice email to come back to the band.

It does seem like things are aligning for a re-union and I'd imagine someone is going to throw them a bunch of money to do it.  Just not sure if the guys in Skid Row will actually want to.

Let me guess. The first album will be played in its entirety.   :\

WASP just announced a US tour where they'll play their 40 year old first album with just one lip synching member that actually played on it! WTF??  :lol

Death Angel and Unto Others are opening, so at least the openers are interesting.

I saw WASP on that Crimson Idol tour which would be quite a few years ago, they were excellent I must say.  Recent footage I've seen though hasn't been to that standard unfortunately.  That's at least a great collection of songs to play live.  Seems awkward though as I doubt Animal will be played unless they alter the lyrics.  I know it's not on the album but it feels like it might as well should have been.

I suck like a beast.........ah no.....umm........I buck like a beast.......alright yeah, don't see it getting played.  :lol

Not sure who Unto Others are but Death Angel seem pretty heavy and thrashy as a WASP opener.

Blackie agreed to playing the song live on their 2022/2023 tour for the band's anniversary.  The song was preceded by a video explaining the PMRC and censorship.  I'm sure they'll play the song on this new tour too.

Dave and Rachel have been pretty adamant over the years that this isn't about the music it's about the 'personal'.  But this isn't the most extreme case of a band reuniting after 'acrimony'.

I don't follow this too closely, since Skid Row fell off my radar after the first album, but I know Bas has made comments in the past about the band "needing" him. I'm sure he'd figure out a way to do it without seeming a total hypocrite.

But let's be honest; this elevates them from 800 seat standing-only clubs to small theaters; this isn't going to elevate them at this point to opening stadium shows, do you think?

I think it does.  If Skid Row is headlining, you're correct.  But look at the Motley Crue package tours over the last couple of years.  Skid Row with Sebastian Bach would fit really well with them, or other festivals.  You can only go out with Poison and Def Leppard so many times before needing to come up with a different set of bands to take out.

Yeah. I don't think this elevates them to something huge, but it does elevate them.  It seems this is all social media driven and not really based on any facts of it possibly happening though.  But also, being on a stadium tour as an opener would totally seem possible, but I'm not sure who they'd be opening for.  I think Motley Crue has run it's course, the Def Leppard Journey tour is not selling great locally. It seems more likely they'd headline the M3 rock festival or something under this and maybe do a national tour of theaters like you stated.  That's still a big upgrade for them right now.  (although the Lizzy Hale stuff is quite good from one of the videos I watched and interesting if they could somehow make that work long term).

TAC

The spot for Skid Row would definitely be the third slot on a major old 80's tour, or like you said Marc, the M3. They could easily headline large clubs, maybe small theaters, and definitely casinos.

Mike Orlando doesn't piss me off as much here as he did in the first song.

Sounds like Stomp 442/Volume 8 era Anthrax.

Just saw that Mark Tornillo's birthday is today...and he's 70!   :eek

You'd never know that from watching him live or hearing him sing.

I'm not totally surprised because I know he's been active since the early 80s with TT Quick but he is still a couple years older than I thought he was. Clearly he takes good care of himself as he sounds almost the same now as he did then.

I was coming here to post about this, and you obviously beat me to it  ;D

TAC

Yeah, it's from the upcoming VGEP, with VG standing for Video Game. Each song is based on a video game or character or something like that. Sounds kind of queer to me but they are a great band and there's still a quality to it.
