What does everyone think of the Pantera "reunion".......seems solid to me

I didn't like the idea at first but I'm warming to it.  Only because it's Zak.  The proof will be in the performances though.

Seeing JJ around reminded me of this recent release

https://youtu.be/j3hA1nrG7M0?t=1326

I am not across anything much in terms of recent releases but stumbled onto this the other day.  Listening to the singer scream his fucking head off put a big smile on my face and the music is very solid classic metal to boot.

I'll click this later.  Glad I'm not the only one not across a lot of recent releases.  Just have no interest in much anymore, kinda worrying.

Riot City is awesome. I pimped them when their last album came out and even purchased it. I haven't had a chance to listen to their new one yet. I'll cross that off my list today.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

New singer vs the last album..............old singer still in the band , just on guitar.

Yeah, Electric Elite is good stuff. The singing is over the top, but it really works. And while this doesn't bring anything new to the table, there sure is an infectious energy and urgency!

Sometimes things don't have to be new but they can still bring something fresh to a style we know and love.  I'll try and find time to check the whole thing.

Aren't those the health reasons? His hearing is deteriorating listening to Vince butcher those songs night after night.

Priest's Hall Of Fame induction performance.........after being introduced by Alice Cooper

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQI9unurhmg

Before hitting the stage with their medley, the group was welcomed by Alice Cooper, who described Priest as “the definitive metal band.”

“They defined the sound we know of heavy metal and their sound is unmistakable,” Cooper said. “And what can you say about Rob Halford’s voice? Never have screams covered such a range. Is there any emotion that he can’t express?”

Cooper described Halford as “one of the greatest singers in heavy metal history” and praised the group for defining “what heavy metal looked like.”

“They’re electrifying on stage and one of the hardest-hitting live bands in the history of rock and roll. Priest has carried the flag of hard rock and heavy metal proudly for something like 50 years, never wavering or following trends or pretending to be anything but exactly what they are,” Cooper said. “They are flying high tonight. Much deserved and long overdue.”

Now Frontiers can save time and money by not even putting the effort into writing crappy material.  :lol

Say what you want about Frontiers or Ronnie, at least this is a pretty good tracklist for the album.  The album title is lame though - how many "raised on radio" titles have there been, and then they just drop in the word "heavy."  haha.

“Raised On Heavy Radio” Tracklisting:
1. The Battle Rages On (Deep Purple cover)
2. Metal Daze (Manowar cover)
3. Turbo Lover (Feat. Nozomu Wakai) (Judas Priest cover)
4. Hallowed Be Thy Name (Iron Maiden cover)
5. Fast As A Shark (Accept cover)
6. No More Tears (Feat. Gus G.) (Ozzy Osbourne cover)
7. The Shining (Feat. Chris Caffery) (Black Sabbath cover)
8. A Light In The Black (Rainbow cover)
9. Kind Hearted Light (Feat. Roland Grapow) (Masterplan cover)
10. You Don’t Remember, I’ll Never Forget (Yngwie Malmsteen)
11. The Four Horsemen (Metallica)
12. Turbo Lover (Alternate Solo Version) (Judas Priest cover) Digital Bonus Track

How many of these songs were actually played on radio though?  :lol

The tracklist is indeed interesting.  The Masterplan choice obviously sticks out though.  :lol  Not sure why they didn't opt for a Time of the Oath or The Chance style track if they wanted Roland involved.

Saying all that, that Shining cover was okay, but I have no reason to listen to it again.  Didn't like what Caffery did with the solos too.  Shows how sublime Iommi's playing was back then.
