Plus I think with Rob, it seemed like there was unfinished business for him in Priest. Painkiller was an outstanding album and him leaving seemed unnecessary and premature. Fans definitely didn’t want a split or new singer. Unlike with Queensryche who released subpar albums and parts of the fanbase were wanting a change.

Speaking of Rob, boneyard just played Fight Nailed to the Gun. Great tune and the version on Live Insurrection is kick ass.

Funny thing is that Rob never intended to leave priest. He wanted to take a bit of a break and do a solo project. A misunderstanding that got out of hand led to him accidentally quitting the band when he didn't even want to in the first place.

That would be if Ralf didn't end up becoming a fan favorite. And Label saw the money would be better to keep Ralf, than risk getting Rob back.

Or we would've gotten both, in the Halloween situation...

But, I don't how the bands contract is with their label, and all the business aspects.

Could very well, have said by to Ralf. But it all depends on how Ralf would've been accepted by the fans, and if that would be turning better profits or not. It's stupid business stuff like this, that makes bands decide on certain questionable decisions.

Taking Ripper over Ralfie all day long. But Rob was coming back no matter who took over.

I have no reason to think Ralf would've been accepted by the fans anymore than Ripper was. Other than possibly because Ripper is American.

What makes the Helloween different is that Deris had a long and successful tenure with the band before Kiske came back.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Indeed, which caused Rob and the band to not talk for years.  Seems like the whole thing would have been avoided if they just talked it out.

Yep.  If Rob wanted back in, there's no question the band and label would have punted anyone in the chair.

And yes, Deris recorded more albums then Kiske so it's a completely different situation.

Just seen on Facebook that Erik has left H.E.A.T. but Erik was the best thing about the band. The new singer is the original singer. I didn’t rate their albums with him.

H.E.A.T ANNOUNCE NEW FRONTMAN KENNY LECKREMO

“The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away”

Swedish rock band H.E.A.T have today announced that lead singer Erik Grönwall will be leaving the band, and that his replacement will be original H.E.A.T vocalist Kenny Leckremo.

The news comes after the success of the band’s critically acclaimed sixth studio album ”H.E.A.T II” which featured the singles – ”Dangerous Ground”, ”Rock Your Body”, ”Rise”, ”Come Clean” and ”One By One”.

The original founding members of H.E.A.T issued the following statement about Erik leaving the group to pursue other interests.
”First of all, we want to thank Erik for all the crazy fun and epic travels around the world the past 10 years. Together we made H.E.A.T what it is today. Secondly, we want to welcome back founding member and original vocalist Kenny Leckremo to the band. We’re looking forward to write the next chapter of H.E.A.T story together.”

”It’s like a shot at redemption,” adds Leckremo. ”I’m thrilled to be back, and to be a part of what H.E.A.T is today. No longer just a shadow of the past, but a force into the future. The H.E.A.T legacy continues.”

Says Grönwall about his departure - ”H.E.A.T has really been a place for me to grow as an individual, singer and frontman. The guys recruited this young Swedish Idol guy and believed more in me and my potential than I did
myself. I am forever grateful for that. Gentlemen it’s been a pleasure touring the world with you. I’ve learned a lot from you and you’ve made me stronger. I look forward to build more memories with you, just not collectively as H.E.A.T.”

Speaking of the melodic rock side , I see Erik has left H.E.A.T. and the original guy is back.  Bad move I would reckon but we'll see.

I have been trying to keep up with new releases etc......but just realised I have lost my little list I had been building just in case I manage to get back into the swing of things.  Ah well - 2020 can officially fuck off anyway ;D

That Voodoo Circle  :lol - Jet might wanna sue.  She looks so fine and I really wanna make her mine  ::) If you're in the mood for something heavier with Readman ......might have already been mentioned but this is a track from a new band developed during lockdown called Immunity For The Masses.

Apparently, Savatage are working on some new stuff.

That would be cool to see. One of the last times Jon appeared in the news he was recovering from a mild stroke while working on his next solo album so I'm glad to see he seems to have recovered.

I know it’s coming from Frontiers, but since it’s good musician, thought I’d put it here.

Quote
Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the signing of Danish vocalist Ronnie Atkins Official to a solo deal. The acclaimed Pretty Maids and Nordic Union vocalist is currently wrapping up work on a new solo album, "One Shot," which will be released in the spring of 2021.

"To be honest, I initially had no intention to do a solo album to begin with, but for various reasons and in particularly my own personal health situation I finally decided to have a crack at it," says Atkins.

"Around Easter 2020 and only some six weeks after I was told that everything seemingly looked very positive for my health, I was unfortunately diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and told it was incurable, which was devastating news for me. Needless to say, that was a total game changer and I went into kind of a panic situation for a while! But when the dust had settled. I realised there were two ways to approach the situation. I could sit down, accept the facts, and feel pity for myself or I could pull myself up, set some goals, pursue my dreams, and carry on living! And with fantastic back up from my family and true friends, I went for the latter!" continues Atkins.

With the global pandemic shutting down touring for the foreseeable future, Atkins knew a tour promoting the latest Pretty Maids album, "Undress Your Madness" (2019) was not going to be in the cards anytime soon. Suddenly, the timing for working on a new solo album seemed to have presented itself.

"Well, I couldn’t change the way things were by any means. The whole world was on a lockdown and the future prospects of concerts were very uncertain and still is to this day! Basically, that meant that if I was gonna carry out the idea of a solo album, it had to be now since I don't necessarily have all the time in the world. I had all these ideas recorded on my iPhone that I felt were too good to never see the light of day and I was writing a lot at the time to help ease my frustrations," tells Atkins.

Ronnie's next step was that he hooked up with good friend and PM bandmate and producer Chris Laney to begin the work of putting these ideas together into songs. Chris is overseeing production, Jacob Hansen will mix, and musicians/singers appearing on the album include, in addition to Laney, Allan Sørensen, Morten Sandager, Pontus Egberg, Pontus Norgren, Kee Marcello, Olliver Hartmann, John Berg, Anders Ringman, Linnea Vikström Egg, and Björn Strid.

The album is currently scheduled for release in spring of 2021 with the first single and more album details to be revealed in January 2021.

Stay tuned!
