I'd be shocked if they sell 40k tickets to any one show. Maybe LA or NY, but that's it. Hell, I'd be shocked if they sold 30k tickets to this.

I wouldn't be shocked if they sell more.  I've seen people on my Facebook news feed (and even coworkers) that aren't really big into metal or hair bands (like us) absolutely salivating at this tour.  The three largest bands of that genre in one package tour?  That's enough to get a lot of casual fan's butts in the seats.  The nostalgia associated with this tour is HUGE.  It's the hair band equivalent of the Big 4 shows to a thrash metal fan.

I've also seen a lot of comments on news articles completely affirming what Nikki Sixx is saying - The Dirt has developed a ton of younger fans of the band that never had the chance to see them previously.

Yea, the success of the Dirt is definitely going to help ticket sales.  Same as Def Leppard being inducted to the Rock N Roll HOF, I think these two things will help bring in new and younger audiences.

I saw a tweet from Eddie Trunk who has been mostly shitting on this (from what I see on twitter, I don't listen to his radio show) but he stated that at least these three bands are almost completely the original band members.  And that actually is kind of impressive and I'm sure that's a draw too.  To go back to Journey, I wonder how many people don't see them because it's not Perry?

And the top comment................

The insensitivity here is real.
Do some research on the poor guy and you'll learn that after this show he had to be carried away in an ambulance because following the final song he immediately went into labor

Oh man. I can't believe people are going to spend money for that this summer. What an absolute fucking joke.

Well, unless I hear otherwise when it comes to the band's performance, hopefully Def Leppard more than carry Motley Crue's shortcomings to make this a solid night.  I will not be going to the Inglewood show though unless I get like a ticket for like $25 total, even for a nosebleed seat, and I get free parking because screw paying $30.00 there (I don't know if the parking there will be $30.00, but The Forum next to the stadium is $30.00 and I don't see how they would charge less than that).

It seems to be a coheadlining tour, so they will play equal sets and maybe rotate the headlining slot.  Tim's hate for this is making me love it even more.  We all know Motley will suck live, the show is more than that.

You know, what I hate about it is that it's a blatant cash grab. And none of these bands have earned my respect to pay ut anything for them to line their pockets. I've never been a fan of Poison, but I'm not going to slag them.

I am just not in agreement with any of Def Leppard's music post 1983. I think they blow, honestly. And I saw Motley Crue on 3 headlining tours in the 80's and thought they were great. But what are we doing?

It's hard to argue about being a cash grab, but it's going to be a fun night IMO including watching Vince be terrible.  I think knowing they are going to be shit just sets my expectations as such.  It'll be an awesome show for the three other bands who I expect to put on a good show and then one band who will be shit.  By the point of the night I'll probably be drunk and just laugh at them as my entertainment.

There is a part of me that thinks because of the money involved and the rumor of livenation making Vince lose weight, that maybe they will surprise and perform decent.  I don't expect it, I expect a shit show and am looking forward to it.

Yeah Cram, I don't mean to sound like a dick. I'm sure a day out at a stadium of rock bands is a great day out.

I always thought Motley Crue was fantastic live.

You sound like everyone on blabbermouth comment section really (minus the dickness, just the opinion).  It's a very popular opinion you have.  Not really meaning to rile you up or anything either, we just approach it from different angles.

I actually have the motley crue end of tour concert blu-ray.  I never even watched it. I bought it all those years ago because I always had that tour as being one I should have been to and it's a big reason why I do want to see them, I just never have before.  Kind of a bucket list thing for me.  I already know I'm going to like Def Leppard and Poison more so it's more of an event thing and not just about their music for me.

I would imagine a lot of people are going to this show for the atmosphere (cougars/funbags/booze) and aren't expecting these bands in their prime.  I saw Vince last year at a casino show and he clearly struggled a bit, but it was a good time.  I'm curious if the bands are going to stick with only their 80's material; because if Motley plays something from Generation Swine, New Tattoo or Saints, that's prime piss break time.

I don't remember the last time a rock tour has gotten this much discussion and attention.  It's been the main discussion with Eddie Trunk for the last few weeks.

I saw the video a few years ago of Motley Crue on some Carnival styled show and it was awesome.

Here's my problem in a nutshell.
1. Motley Crue just wants my money.
2. I hate Def Leppard

Blabbermouth is posting an article anytime any band member says a word.  The hype is a bit annoying already.

Yup yup.  It's going to be fun and I do like Def Leppard and Poison's live shows these days.  Joan Jett is a nice addition for me, get to experience something new (well old, but a first for me).  And by the time Motley Crue hits the stage everyone including them will likely be sauced and it'll just be a party with 30k people.

Looks like the Beach/Pilson/McCauley album might be quite decent.  Nothing ground breaking but the samples sound at the upper end of what I could've expected.

If you want a couple of the heavier songs , try 1 and 7
