No sweat... I think we have a fantasy football 'chatter' thread separate from the DTF league.  But hey, it's all the same to me.

If we can hook you on American football, maybe you'll be interested in joining in on our league next year.

How did I know that my 30-ish point lead would not hold up with Jamaal Charles returning this week.   thank you Nick Foles for doing absolute shite this week.  Ffs, Asiata did better than Foles, Crabtree and Garçon combined!

Also, Kade ... Sorry for the bad advice on the Atlanta defense matchup against Minnesota. Who knew??

To Foles defense, the Eagles D was not letting him do anything! :lol

I can't figure out whether LeSean McCoy is overhyped, or under-utilized.

I had him in league when he was under Reid, and never ceased to amaze me how little touches he got....yet he's projected in the top 5 every single week.   I thought maybe Reid was just a moron for not using what was (supposedly) the #1 RB in the NFL.  (at least, that's the way he's been hyped)

But now, under a new head coach, it's EVEN WORSE!   I've never seen McCoy be consistent enough to be considered a rock solid starter, and I'm not sure I'd ever draft him again.

Quit your whining!!! You're up 30 points on me because my dumbass didn't start Arian Foster!  And other than Forte, everyone else on my team underperformed.

Not positive that having Foster would have saved you.  He had 29, but if you subbed Asiata, you would have to take away his 5....that's a net of +24.  And since the Chiefs score is only going to continue to go down, I don't think it would have put you over the edge.

....that is...hoping this makes you feel better about getting CRUSHED!!   ;D

Hey mate, don't worry about it, I'm leaning that this is certainly one of the most unpredictable sports IMO.  The defence didn't matter last week as I finally won my head to head easily.

Gonna win my head to head this week too.  I'm all done with 120 points and my opposition is on 75 with only his kicker to go.  Manning got his first solid 30 and Lacy finally delivered the goods.  Bennet only 1.7, wth?! lol

Seattle is such a letdown in the points section, I might just have to stick with San Diego from now on, Would have won with them I'm pretty sure.

I remain undefeated!

Dark City, you had me beat up until Marshawn Lynch caught that TD pass. Excellent matchup.

Piss poor performance from most of my player + benching Arian Foster = worst performance of the week.

Looks like my undefeated season has come to an end, no thanks to a piss-poor performance from Marshawn Lynch and Giovani Bernard. But Jingle's players showed up! I didn't expect Eli to play well, especially since Victor Cruz is done.

Didn't even need Eli!  Had over 100 pts before the afternoon games started. 2 weeks in a row my boys came to play. It's bound to end this week!  Almost waived Baldwin earlier in the season. Glad I didn't now.

With some help from Chris Ivory, and the fact that the rest of my players showed up as well(except for Seattle's defense, the fuck bruh), I came up with an underdog win :)

And Khiry Robinson was ruled out like just before the game, and now I'm stuck with getting no more points. So that now leaves me with all injured RB's except for Chris Ivory. Fuck. Hoping to keep the lead, person I'm playing against still has a TE with a good potential for points.

I wouldn't sweat it... I don't see Reed hauling in 22+ points.

Wow Jingle that was quite a week for you.

EDIT: Just checked and it beat my week 1 score, which was the previous high for the whole season. So screw you. :lol

Yeah, after a couple of shaky weeks, my guys (especially Hilton, Foster and Forte) are lighting it up.  I think I have 3 more points coming, as they box score I saw gave Carpenter 3 field goals.

Maybe I should sub *in* 4 bye week players just to keep it interesting?

There are a few people here who regularly forget about their team after week 2.

I've gotten reamed on matchups.  I'd be in 5th place based on points scored, but I always seem to run up against whoever has the hot week, ie jingle last week.  At least I'm playing dead weight this week since his bench is full of bye week players.

That's the disadvantage of playing in free leagues.  Plus, if you are in pay leagues, too, once your team in a free league starts to not do well, there is no incentive to give a darn anymore.

I noticed in our game recap that "Five of the seven losses for Professor Dumbass this season have come when their opponent had their highest-scoring week of the season."

Talk about getting stiffed!

Damn... when I have a mediocre week, I never run into someone who has a more mediocre week.   >:(  With three of my top players on bye, and Foles injured, the loss was inevitable.

No shit!!!  You can't catch a break at all

And after three weeks of record setting scores, I get three weeks of shitting the bed.  Now my two stud RBs are done, plus, the "brilliant" move of claiming Monte Bell turned in one fuckin play. Shit, is the guy made of glass?!?!  No one even touched him and he crumpled like a cheap pair of pants.

While I understand that there are pros to playing in "for money" leagues....the above mentioned stuff is exactly why I prefer free leagues.   It's just way too unpredictable.   I mean, ya there is skill involved, but you can get totally screwed by something you have no control over.  My stress level would start going up if I had money on the line.   I don't want my fun little side thing that I don't take very seriously to be a source of stress.

I guess I'm not really that competitive.   I'm like playful competitive...

Like top performers such as Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, Philip Rivers, Ben Roethlisberger, Jordy Nelson, TY Hilton, Jeremy Maclin, Emmanuel Sanders, Matt Forte, Jamaal Charles, Greg Olsen, etc. all throwing up at least one stinker during the fantasy playoff season?

Stuff like that is when I won't play in leagues where more than four teams make the playoffs.  What is the point in even having a regular season if 6-8 teams make it out of 10-12?  If your team is worth a damn, you'll make it, and then it's just a matter of whose players just happen to light it up in December.  Less teams making the playoffs lessen the luck factor.  Granted, it takes the fun out of it for teams who have slow starts and then have little chance of making it, but that's too bad.

On a related note, I am proud to say that the one online team I had this year was one of the best teams I ever put together.  My starters were:

Romo
DeMarco, Jeremy Hill and Ingram
A. Brown, E. Sanders and D. Baldwin (or P. Harvin or Wayne)
Gronk
Justin Tucker
Seattle D

I went 12-2 and dominated both playoff games in winning the league. :hat
