i like this album, sure, but it's not like mindblowing or anything. i think the more proggy it gets the less interesting it gets. the best parts are all non-metal (Solider, beginning of In Hell's name, beginning and ending of Daddy Loves You, very end of The Big Day) and the more straightforward metal parts are still more interesting than the wankfest instrumental breaks, that's just pretty consistent across the entire album too

disc 2

pretty lovely music, again no real standout tracks but it's an enjoyable disc front-to-back.

overall this is quite good, i don't think night song or the title track are quite up to snuff compared to the rest but the bar here is pretty high. don't think this is a top-tier album either, but still, good

oh, hammock released a new album.
it's... different. probably the loudest and most upbeat album they've ever released, at least for a number of tracks.

Some lesser tracks, but overall, better production. This will push them over the edge, I feel.
From the ocean comes the notion that the realise lies in rhythm. The rhythm of vision is dancer, and when you dance you´re always on the one. From the looking comes to see, wondrous realise real eyes....

Rattle That Lock and Once More Round the Sun I listened to yesterday but I wanted to include them anyways. Both have a few stellar tunes and pretty consistent overall, really really like The Girl in the Yellow Dress and Faces of Stone off Gilmour, and The Motherload and Ember City off Mastodon.

Just finished Twilight Cinema, amazing artist and album, very unique narrative type of singing with some cool orchestral elements.

Steven Wilson, well.. I stumbled upon 'Routine' on youtube yesterday and this album was an immediate purchase, I was literally in tears watching the video while listening to it for the first time, gonna check out this album as soon as it arrives.
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

Dancing Right in Front of Me is my second favourite from Rattle That Lock. Faces of Stone is obviously the best.

The whole album is fantastic except Today. Listened to it just this morning at work.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Yes - Fragile
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.
