I'm on a huge Deftones roll right now, god, this might even be my most anticipated 2016 release.

Currently listening to my 2 favorite albums of theirs  :hefdaddy

Ive been trying to get into Deftones in preparation for the new album. My friend made me a mix of his favorite stuff, so I've yet to listen to an album in full but I will soon.

Really enjoying this too. I was never really able to get into Mastodon but this time I seem to be digging it a lot more.

Taking a slight break from Machine Head to give this album a try, it's an Overclocked Remixes album. I loved the albums they did for Final Fantasy VI &VII so I'm giving this a try. Although I haven't gotten around to playing Chrono Trigger I know Nobuo Uematsu composed the music so I know this will be good. Loving it so far.

Yeah my first time listening to them. I can see why people love them. Its a shame they never put out an album with Todd as im sure it would have been Killer

Skid Row - s/t, Slave to the Grind

Nelson - lightning strikes twice

Vinnie Moore - time odyssey

Just realised I haven't played The Astonishing for a few days. Time to put that right

I've recently gotten into Ne Obliviscaris and Myrath and am really loving both (Myrath slightly more) and have most Muse albums, including Origin of Symmetry. I've noticed both of the other two albums popping up in here every now and again so will have to check them out.

Amorphis is some really good melodic death metal with some pop sensibilities and great melodies, and Native Construct is just totally bonkers. Both come highly recommended.

Have you listened to all Myrath albums already?

Desert Call is my favourite of theirs. The others either lean a little heavily on the prog-power side of the equation (like Hope) or focus too much on Eastern sounds and influences at the expense of the songwriting. Desert Call gets it exactly right imo.

Hey, those aren't that bad if you look at them in the metaphorical sense or something. It's not about the children and the creepy toy-master guy, you know. (And it's actually "Welcome to my world, to my toy factory!", I just checked the booklet :lol )

Did you like it?
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Yes actually! Quite a bit. I distinguished different singers and stuff.

There was one song I couldn't stand though, Carry Me Over, chorus got me snoring. The album was really solid though, I'll probably buy it in the near future.

Carry Me Over is kind of boring, I agree. That and Lost in Space are my least favourite songs from this one.

And :lol at this bolded part. Take this, Tyrias, 425 and Mr. Red!

Desert Call or Talesf the Sands are excellent. I didn't like hope at all.

Alright, I'm going to list my three favourite albums from them. The choice is up to you!

If you're into high-pitched vocals and old school classic power metal (think Helloween's Keeper of the Seven Keys pt. 1 and 2) - try The Metal Opera pt. 1 (among the singers are Michael Kiske, David DeFeis, Kai Hansen, Andre Matos, Sharon Den Adel, Rob Zdiarstek)
If you like your power metal diverse with aggressive vocals on some songs - try The Scarecrow (among the singers are Jorn Lande, Alice Cooper, Michael Kiske, Bob Catley)
If you're more into hard rock and heavy metal mixed with power metal with real orchestra, sweeping riffs and anthemic melodies - try The Mystery of Time (among the singers are Biff Byford, Ronnie Atkins, Joe Lynn Turner, Michael Kiske, Eric Martin, Bob Catley)

I would also say their newest one (Ghostlights, released this February) is also quite good. It's mostly in the vein of The Scarecrow though.
