this album is great, but it's hard to listen to often because of its depressive, crushing atmosphere, i've only been able to take it once every few days or so

but yeah, fantastic stuff, very beautiful and powerful music

I don't really know too much of their stuff aside from Like a Stone and Show Me How to Live, but I am a fan of Chris Cornell. Thought his recent solo album was great and the Soundgarden stuff is solid, so I decided to check out how he was in Audioslave.

Watched some of the videos from the T Mac benefit. Mostly good stuff but Zakk Wyldes guitar playing gets old after a few minutes. He does a decent Ozzy though.

Earthside - "A Dream In Static" I'm not sure what to make of it yet. It's far too intricate for a fair judgement after only a single listen. I hear some post-rock influence and there is quite a bit of instrumental-only music here, in fact, I'd say there's probably more time without vocals than there is with vocals. But again, it's got an epic, almost cinematic vibe in places with a lot of very intricate orchestration layered in there and some fairly complex (though somehow smoothly articulated) polyrhythms that will surely take several spins to really begin fully appreciating.

Pretty kickass debut. Couple of tracks on their official website.

It's not as good as the CD version, and is shorter, but if you'd like to appreciate all the details of the music, then do it.

This album just keeps getting better with each listen. Excellent epic glitch-hop that doesn't rely on predictable structures (like buildups and "drop the bass" moments).
