Such a huge list of guests but no one really worth noting.

Helge Engelke (Fair Warning) is a cool guitarist.

And I will tell Neil Murray and Mat Sinner that you don't rate them  :lol

Yeah, those two are the only other two that I noticed actually, forgot to mention them haha.  I was taken aback by the amount of guitarists.

That Fair Warning guy is very good indeed, you're right.

With the new album right around the corner, I feel like I am about to go into full blown DT mode. Tons of boots to get through, but I started with these today. Probably going to listen to 75% DT over the next 6 months.

I'm feeling the same thing coming on.  Will start around the holidays - that gives it a month to get thru what I want to.

I think it would be best for me to abstain from all DT until the new album, give it a fighting chance.

That Carsten Schultz album is MUCH better in the second half.  Another album with way too many tracks (15).  If I rated it from track 8-15 then we'd be talking low 80's% , but as it is 74%.

Modern albums tend to have too many tracks, like they feel a need to fill the disc. 11 or 12 tracks should be an absolute maximum for an album of standard structured songs. Choose your best songs, maybe make the rest bonus tracks for Japan or something. :lol

True.  Although 15-16 tracks I can work with if it's all quality.

How often is that the case? I can't think of any album of 15 tracks that doesn't have at least a couple of filler tracks, and would have been stronger if they'd culled it.
I'm all about the album experience, so sometimes less is more.

I tend to always enjoy an album that has 10 songs over a 15-16 song album.

I guess you're right.  13 can be all solid IMO, 15 I guess thinking about it again is pushing it.

In seriousness though, I am worried about the number of tracks.  For some reason, I get a Nostradamus feel from this.

If DT can get that many tracks AND a concept album by me , then they deserve 2 Grammys  :lol

not directly listening to any album rn but it's related to me spinning Leaving Your Body Map recently
at the end of my roulette i thought i'd overrated gleam in ranks, mostly because i'd barely listened to it since and didn't remember it well, but now i'm feeling i might've underrated it a little
also surprised that i'm actually enjoying this album a fair bit, don't really like the opener but otherwise yeah it's cool stuff

I've grown to appreciate it quite a bit as time goes by.  It's not a great album, but if you look past the type of band and what they are trying to achieve, it's pretty decent, there's some good songs on there.  And it's miles better than Redeemer.
