How is that Kade? the samples sounded pretty solid.

it's actually really fucking great.  Good enough that I purchased it.  There's one clunker at the end called Fallen Angel which I would have swapped with the Japan bonus track, but other than that, solid from start to finish.  I don't know early of their early stuff, but loved the last one too (which I still need to properly purchase) and this one again is a winner.  Recommended.

I don't like the singer this time. Last album was excellent. This one could be with a different vocal.

Oh, there's a different singer?  Didn't know that.  I still really like it.

Praying Mantis go through singers like undies and socks.  But they generally put out strong albums anyway.  I have 4 or 5 and they're all pretty good.

That Primal Fear album, like Wolf said, is a cracker of an album. Near the very top of their discography for me.

Nowhere to Run is awesome; as is all four new tracks from that album. Too bad all four are basically forgotten gems. I'm sure they might have been played live at some point but I don't know for sure

Paul actually played it live at my request - no jokes  :lol    I very much doubt they played any of those live at a regular gig (or very rarely) but at the KISS Convention in Melbourne in 1995 there was a private acoustic gig for attendees (with the Revenge lineup) .  Paul asked for requests and I yelled out "Nowhere To Run" - he gave me a smile as if to say "you bastard" and managed to pull off the first verse and chorus before saying he couldn't remember the rest.

I've actually wondered when it comes to Kiss and the amount of obscure songs in their discography. What percentage of the songs from them do you think the band would have not even a clue how to play them or remember

It's amazing how much you do remember when you're the main writer (so Stanley would fare best) but I wouldn't be surprised if they - as a band- were clueless of 60%-70% of the catalogue if asked to play off the cuff.

They've brushed off a lot of the gems on the cruises and conventions at least in acoustic form. These are the songs I love from the band. I'm pretty sick of the setlist they churn out year on year. Oh for a club tour, no makeup and lots of obscure stuff like Nowhere To Run, I'm a legend tonight etc.

I'm a much bigger fan of the Paul songs then Genes; however, my three all time favorite Kiss songs are sung by Gene. God of Thunder, War Machine and Not for the Innocent.

The band could fire off GoT in a heartbeat I'm sure, but probably not the other two

Well they played War Machine at the gig I was at a few weeks ago , so at the moment they could :lol

Yeah I'm a paul fan. Gene wrote his fair share of great songs though, although GoT is a paul song.

I wanted to be Ace though

Haven't seen War Machine live since 1984.

Think I was more impressed with Netherworld II on first listen.  But KoR did not disappoint at all - I was expecting a drop in quality from FreeFall, I'm not sure there is any degradation.  Harnell's track was terrific.  Both are immediate AOTY contenders (naturally).

Both really good albums - I thought the VP tailed off a bit in the 2nd half but that's being very critical.  I need to now go back and check the debut Freefall and figure out why that never connected with me the way this new one seems to.

I think my favourites so far are No Control and The Right Moment. Altzi's track is pretty good too.

I still need to listen to Netherworld II again but first impressions were quite good.

The Cage - Ancient Evil. Hmm, think I preferred it to Brent's impression but probably won't go back to it. Aimed for a King Diamond concept approach but the songs weren't there.

This one has some great moments, but also some songs that should never have made the record.  Cyberface, I'm talking to you.

i'm liking this more than their second album, more diverse

the vocals are pretty consistently the weak link of this band for me though
