From the ocean comes the notion that the realise lies in rhythm. The rhythm of vision is dancer, and when you dance you´re always on the one. From the looking comes to see, wondrous realise real eyes....

pretty diverse album.  And lots of 60s/70s motown influence.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

First ever listen through Porcupine Tree - DeadWing, awesome.
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

to be fair i only listened to like the first two or three songs and then turned it off
a song on its own might have a decent chance idunnolol  :lol

mathcore is a genre i wish i liked more than i do but few of the bands who fall under the classification do much for me, just ends up sounding like noise

To be fair the first tunes are the most intense on the album, but it slowly gets less heavier. Also, the goddamn riffs on it are fantastic  :o

i just think about the Hirsch Effekt album i just got which is also mathcore but has a build up intro to the heaviness and a few breaks from it (that are all great songs in their own right) and i'm like "why can't everything be like this" and then i'm sad

Thrice's Artist in the Ambulance has the same problem, it's just, nonstop loudness and heaviness and i can't get into it at all despite Thrice being one of my favorite bands  :lol

Yup, it's excellent. Took some time to grow on me, but Gilmour definitely wrote a wonderful record there. I'd say it's a 4/4.5 out of 5 album imo - by the way, that's how I'll be rating stuff in my roulette, instead of out of ten.

I've gotten used to rating stuff out of 5 - might add a + for songs that are between scores, like a tune that's between an 4 and a 4.5 is just a 4+.

Swans album is exactly next on my to-listen list. Will do a spin next week.

Susanne Sundfor album is pretty good. I'm only one spin in, but once again, I really enjoy her voice. I would say The Brothel is still her best song as far as I know though, nothing from this album surpassed it.

Dunno if you have the PM I sent, but I'd highly recommend listening to the second disc of The Seer first, since it's a bit more accessible imo, and then jump to the first one. I say this mainly for you to avoid the 30-min self-titled epic :lol

Yeah, her new album is pretty good, specially Accelerate. But I prefer the previous record :P
