Michael Monroe - Blackout States
Is this a new album? How is it?

Yeah. It's not bad. Not as good as Not Fakin It but pretty good nonetheless. Was a ice change of pace amongst all that metal.

And Kade, I enjoyed the Saxon very much. Great Accept-like guitar sound.
The CIIC is great too. Brent was on th money.

Talking of money, how much did the Aussies pay the ref in the rugby?

Yeah, a bit of a blunder hey?  We are seeing bad ref calls in a number of sports lately cost teams the game, not good enough.

That Saxon does have a very Accept guitar sound, and production too.

It wasn't horrible  :lol.  I'd give it a solid 7.5.  Pretty standard power metal with a fantasy theme.  You should check the profile of the album - the artists even have these ridiculous made up names:

Bass - Cosmic Antagonist (Martin Furängen)
Guitar - Transcendental Protagonist (Wojtek Lisicki)
Drums - Preternatural Transmogrifier (Christian Nyqvist)
Vocals - Ethereal Magnanimus (Daniel Heiman)

Well, I had it on in the background while working, so it wasn't necessarily a dedicated listen.  Can't say anything made me stop and take note though.  Not bad, but I wasn't wow'd - which is probably why I didn't remember them after Tim giving them to me in my roulette - I did check them out back then, but wasn't enough to leave an impression.

The Tangent: A Spark in the Aether

One of the underrated gems of 2015, imo. The Celluloid Road in particular is a brilliant idea for a prog epic, an audio road-trip across America via the TV screen.

Yeah, there´s a series of artists doing this kind of retro 80´s synthwave/pop stuff. Personally, i like to hear it while driving or working.

Definitely get New Bermuda first. It's not AS good as Sunbather, but if Sunbather is a 10, New Bermuda is pretty much a 9 or 9.5. Their first album is not bad at all, but it pales in comparison. I'd say that one is like a 7.5.

Don't know if this is in the same category, but this album I heard for the first time a bit ago is some sweet synth funk. I need to familiarize myself with more of this kind of stuff cause I really love the aesthetic.
