Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

^^ Nice fucking batch! Except for Sabbath but only because I never listened to the whole thing. I was a HUGE TNT fan at one point.  Such an underrated band. Tony's voice is gold and Ronnie is an extremely underrated guitar player.

:tup  I could tell we had some common taste just from your posts in the A-Z thread  ;)

I like most of the TNT stuff right up to Realized Fantasies and then the great comeback later with My Religion.

The recent reunion lasted all of 5 mins but it looks like we'll be getting another Starbreaker which could be good.

Just finished:

Steven Wilson - Hand. Cannot. Erase. for the 30456th time. SO GOOD..

Now:

Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Two brilliant albums :hefdaddy .

The Devin Townsend Band - Accelerated Evolution
Damn, I forgot how good the songs are besides Depth Charge (which is still the best one here). Devin's vocals are god-like.

05 Fuck Em - Lil B 'The BasedGod'

All of it in one sitting?
In its entirety. :hat

Nice. I don't think I did it in one sitting, but I did it over the course of one day. It's a shame I've only re-listened to maybe 20% of it. What are you favorites? I find positive tracks like "Flowers Rising", "Welcome Home" or "Built to Survive" with their video game music samples incredibly gorgeous. But it's also hard to resist to a trap anthem like "Prayin 4 a Brick"! I feel weird saying all this in a Dream Theater forum.
That was the first time I'd sat through the whole thing in one sitting. Mainly because I'm normally not sitting down for five hours to begin with :lol Man, it's tough to pick. BGYCFMB, Lick a Shot, and Prayin 4 a Brick are some of the best cooking songs of all time. I was inspired by Stop Selling Dope, Is This Life, and Rob the Jewler, those are very positive.

Yeah dude, I did not expect to find Task Force at a DT forum :lol

Another solid album of hard rock, with lots of Deep Purple influences.

Me too. Pretty good. I have to say I don't love Joey's voice on this, it reminds me of recent Eric Martin. It's lost some warmth over the years.
Also listened to their last one and really enjoyed it far more than I did at the time.

I am always looking for Tony Harnell material.  I've been trying to find a copy of Morning Wood.  I had it years ago but had to sell it when I was having money troubles.  I'll be looking forward to Starbreaker though.  I also love the two Westworld releases, especially that extremely TNT-sounding bonus track, Elastic.  I saw Westworld here in NY a few years back and Tony's voice is still golden

Send me a PM if you want to talk more.

Dead Can Dance - Anastasis
Although it lacks a bit on the variety department, it's amazing how Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard sing. And the production is top notch - those Greek and Turkish instruments sound so tasty. Wonderful world music bit a bit of ambient.

I still remember voting on their website for which songs should make the album.

Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

I'm usually not a fan of when bands re-do their songs, but Anthrax, Twisted Sister and Stryper did it very well

In what has to be one of the strangest coincidences I've experienced recently, I actually heard a song from that Voicians album a few days ago.
