Ricardo Villalobos - Alcachofa
I don't know why I still have this one on my phone. Its minimalistic house and techno, and unless listened on the right mood, it can be quite boring. But there's an appealing to it that keeps me coming back at times. It might be how great the song Waiworinao is.

Haven't posted much in here because I've mainly been listening to a lot of new releases.  Here's what's on rotation;

Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Listened to the Hibria on Youtube and was very impressed. Some great riffing.

Anathema - A Fine Day To Exit

I never knew why people overlook this album that much - its full of excellent songs and great musicianship. I'm really looking forward to the remastered version.

In its entirety. :hat

Nice. I don't think I did it in one sitting, but I did it over the course of one day. It's a shame I've only re-listened to maybe 20% of it. What are you favorites? I find positive tracks like "Flowers Rising", "Welcome Home" or "Built to Survive" with their video game music samples incredibly gorgeous. But it's also hard to resist to a trap anthem like "Prayin 4 a Brick"! I feel weird saying all this in a Dream Theater forum.

Anyway, I've also listened quite a lot to these albums recently, and they've all grown quite a lot on me. I've also fallen in love with Dire Strait's "Tunnel of Love", what a fantastic song.

With just a weekend to wait until Hand. Cannot. Erase. comes out, I've decided to listen to one of Steven Wilson's solo albums per evening over this weekend. Starting right now with Insurgentes.

Every time I listen to this, I am astounded by its brilliance. Top 5 album of all time for me. Anybody who likes avant-garde music is doing themselves a huge disservice by not listening to this album.

Great album, although I prefer the first in the trilogy.

Me too.  I also picked up the "unofficial" SM Legend III:II.  For a bunch of glorified demos, they're pretty good.  :metal
