Well?

Solid lineup indeed, news to me though.

I'm about half way through it and I'd say it is definitely worth you checking out , but it hasn't quite met expectations.  At their best it can be a bit like a mix of Strato and Judas Priest.  Depending on the second half I'd say we're in for a rating around 75-80%

Here's a couple of the better tracks

Last Farewell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQ_y_HAlKew

All One : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdTyoTpQpZ8

Unfortunately on All One the chorus doesn't live up to the cool Priest like verse and Last Farewell , while really good , is just a bit too familiar in Strato style..

Checked out these and the other samples. This sounds really nice. It's on The List.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Strapping Young Lad: Strapping Young Lad (2003)
Meh. I love City but this is just sterile brutality.

Ozzy Osbourne: No More Tears (1991)
I should have checked out that album long ago. I discovered it with "Hellraiser" which was in GTA San Andreas, but I didn't really like the song until I listened to the album.

Type O Negative: World Coming Down (1999)
For long I couldn't really get into this album, but it has grown on me. The opener "White Slavery" is incredible.

First time I've heard it and it was pretty good. Definitely trying to be Judas Priest but the singer is good. Yeah, quite liked it.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Lowdz, that's a great lineup of albums.

I enjoyed it.
Anyone able to advise me where to go next with Overkill? Never got into them 1st time around but that is a great album.

Today

Rush - p/g, MP

Cinderella - Night Songs, Long Cold Winter

Borealis - Fall From Grace

Now: Vinnie Moore - Meltdown

Brand New - The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
I'm fucking loving this album more and more with each listen. I think it could even get into my top 20 :eek - surprising considering I've been spinning it for less than two months.

Infected Mushroom - Friends on Mushrooms
Fun as always, but I miss some focus on songwriting and the amazing blend of rock and psy-trance Vicious Delicious had. An entertaining listen, anyways.

Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream & Lightbulb Sun
How is it humanly possible to make (and keep making) amazing and consistent albums? There's not a single boring moment on these two records.

Grayceon - All We Destroy
This is a weird album, with some cool and boring tunes and an unconventional (at least for me) sound. I really dig the closing track though - but the rest of the album ain't that great.

Strapping Young Lad - City
Fucking heavy. It starts with some amazing songs, but it doesn't get better after that - some tunes are even repetitive and dull.

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Finally decided to give it a second chance. And sure it delivered. I still dislike the noisy production of the electric guitar on some songs, but the music's awesome so I can make the effort :lol

Yeah, these are awesome.  :metal

I've been getting into Death cab for cutie lately. I really like the debut and currently I'm spinning We have the facts.

Derek and the Dominos: Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs (1970)
Eric Clapton: 461 Ocean Boulevard (1974)
Eric Clapton: Slowhand (1977)

I never would have thought that I would like Clapton... Well, my favourite album remains Blind Faith. On Layla I only really love "Bell Bottom Blues" and the title track, but the rest is cool too. And I'm less into his solo albums although I like them more than I expected, they're pleasantly mellow.

I haven't listened to Saucerful in while. Was hearing a lot of Saucerful type moments in The Endless River a few days ago... Gotta listen to it now.
