I have Wicked Sensation but haven't got to it yet...........been too busy stuffing around in the 80's
I doubt I'll grow to like the Neonfly tbh.
Good to see some love for the Ten - it is a good album. Not so sure about the cover
Haven't see that Eon album about...........I have something of his somewhere. Equinox something or other. If it's "neo prog" then chances are I won't like it - if it's more prog metal then yeah. Will try and track it down .
No worries on Neonfly. I just found that it improved from the first listen, and considering that I absolutely adore Outshine the Sun, I'll keep giving it a shot.
Time of the Equinox is absolutely neo-prog, and pretty bland - about 1/2 of it is instrumental. That was under the banner "Amadeus Awad". This one is definitely more on the metal side of prog. Almost melodic at times as well. Pretty sure you'd dig it - especially with Russell Allen and Amanda Somerville covering most of the vocal duties. The "bonus" tracks come from a prior release "Schizanimus" which features Gavin Harrison on drums. Those tracks aren't quite as "metal", but not nearly "neo" either.
It's also on bandcamp for the non-Spotify crowd -

With just one listen, my first impression was that it was as good as (or better than) either Onwards or The Road Less Travelled - and I loved both those albums. Ida is neck-and-neck with Magali Luyten as my favorite female (non-operatic) metal vocalist.
