Satch marathon continues...

This has never been a favourite and I've not played it in years but what a fantastic album - sounds so good too.

How do you rate Contagious jj?   It cops a heap of flak but I actually don't mind it.

I would rank it on the lower end of their catalog, but it still rocks.  Title track and Fight for your Life are the standouts.  The band might be trying to hard to fit in with the rock scene at this point.

Contagious is a poor album. A couple of ok songs but so much uninspired rubbish. Going for the MTV thing at the time - which is ok if the songs are ther but they weren't.

The Flower Kings: Stardust We Are

As it's such a long album, this is probably only my 3rd full playthrough of it. Nevertheless, it's full of great songs, so it's worth it. Despite the strange intro, Just This Once is probably my favourite song (apart from the epic title track of course).

Take Asylum out of that mix and that's some killer albums.  Thought Asylum has my favorite 80's KISS song.

Tears Are Falling.  Such a different and killer tune. King Of The Mountain is great too.

King Of The Mountain is one of their best 80's songs. I cannot believe they didn't  play it on that tour!

I'm generally not a fan of Gene's 80's songs, but I really like Anyway You Slice It, Trial By Fire and Secretly Cruel.

I'll give it a spin again but I always found it on the lower end of my Kiss album rankings.

I can live without Radar For Love and Who Wants To Be Lonely, but I like everything else on it. Always have.

Not anywhere near my favourite of the 80s. Some good tracks but too much filler. Radar For Love and I'm Alive are awful - up there with the worst Paul Stanley songs. Only HitS is worse but Asylum is far better than that album.

Porcupine Tree: Stupid Dream

This album is amazing! Just a really refreshing bunch of songs. How "radio-friendly" rock should sound. Even Less is my favourite PT album opener, and Baby Dream in Cellophane is in my Top 10. I know it's short, but it's just a perfect slice of acoustic guitar music.

Porcupine Tree - The Incident. Been listening to this record a lot lately (well, just the first disc. Why bother with the second?) after not listening to it for years. It's a lot better than I remember. It's no Blank Planet, but I still love "Occam's Razor", "Time Flies", "Octane Twisted", and "I Drive the Hearse" is just beautiful.
