So much win in this entire post.  I'm surprised with the Masterplan, it still holds up after almost a year and a half, amazing album.  For me lately it's mostly been new stuff;

Kade... is that the new Pendragon?  Also, you got that Dungeon-era Lord re-recording already?  That was fast.

Yes and yes.

The Pendgragon is pretty disappointing compared to the last two.  It's more somber and less melodic with hardly any heavy sections.  It's alright and I'll give it a couple more listens but I don't see it having the power that Pure and Passion did.

The Dungeon re-recordings are okay.  I was disappointed because I know all four albums well and was let down when I realised that only drum tracks, some guitar solos, some bass were re-recorded and some extra backing vox were added.  It's not a total re-recording at all.  The Final Chapter I think has nothing redone and has just been remixed.  The albums are remixed and sound a lot better which is a plus and overall sound stronger and powerful but yeah perhaps I expected a bit much.  The bonus tracks were nice though.  The packagaing is shit.

So, for $95 Cdn, it's not worth my while?

Manic Nirvanna > Fate of Nations > Now And Zen

But only marginally.  I forgot how excellent all three were.  It's been ages since I pulled them out.

Pink Floyd - The Endless River

It's amazing, glorious, and beautiful.

Take out the amazing part, and I agree.  I'd call it 'enjoyable'

I played those 3 albums last month.  I'd go

Now And Zen > Manic Nirvanna > Fate of Nations

I saw the Manic Nirvanna tour.  What a great show and I loved that band.

Little tidbit.  A guitarist from Cutting Crew, Kevin MacMichael "(I Just) Died in Your Arms" played and toured on Fate of Nations.  I loved his style of playing.  Passed away from cancer in the 2000's I believe.

Rush: Counterparts

Bought this today. By coincidence, I believe this is up next in the Rush discography thread. Anyway, I really like what I've heard of 90s Rush, so I decided to go for this one as my 2nd of their albums after Clockwork Angels.

If you don't own them and are happy to spend that on four full length cd's, then go for it.  Really, it only boiled down to $20 a cd, and for me, that's the going rate, so even though I expected too much, the price I have no issue with really.

After Power Windows, Counterparts is their best album followed by Clockwork Angels.

Listened to the New Foo Fighters, Sonic Highways.  New Ace Frehley, Spaced Invaders.  Journey from the Frontiers Tour and Tom Petty's Hypnotic Eye.

Didn't expect PT's old albums to be that good. A Love Supreme and Rock Bottom are definitely not what I expected - although the last one actually seems to have been written that way :P .
