Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
Clipping - CLPPNG
Jenny Hval, Susanna - Meshes of Voice

That last one is like a mix of art-pop and drone. Weird, but I'm liking it.

Awesome album!

I will have to try that again......got it based on all the rave reviews and was underwhelmed.

God damn, there's no beating you to the punch!

I'm enjoying my first listen. Reminds me of latter Alder era Fates. I stumbled upon it the other day on Youtube, listened for a minute and ordered it right away. Grabbed the first two albums at the same time.

I will be interrupting this listening schedule for Maiden Day tomorrow  ;D  But from memory the Guardian is really solid Christian rock in the low 80's ratings - Jamie Rowe has a nice set of pipes and it's not overly preachy.

The Midnight album is an interesting one and an album I enjoy from time to time.   Depending on who you talk to there's somewhere between 100-200 copies out there on CDR that came from Midnight as a "sorry" to those who had pre-ordered & paid for his "M2" solo album and been waiting for ages.  unfortunately he died before the album was done.   This album is a mish mash of 4 Crimson Glory songs done acoustically  (duet with Jon Oliva (vox/piano) on Painted Skies) , a couple of song demos intended for his new album and some rough Christmas songs from the dying days of Crimson Glory.    I have it in mp3 and I'm pretty sure even the original CDRs were only 192 mp3 quality.  Matt Laporte on guitar -another who left us too early.  The sound quality varies quite a bit but the acoustic versions of a couple of the CG songs in particular are a quality production.

Friends, can I interest you in the work of a Filipino artist whom a lot of us think would have made it in the international scene if only she got the right exposure? Her name is Cynthia Alexander, and I am sharing a link to my favorite album of hers called Rippingyarns.

https://cynthiaalexander.bandcamp.com/album/rippingyarns

It is streaming free from her website (well, it streams free for me). There are also links to her other albums in the website.

This is the link to her most popular single:

https://cynthiaalexander.bandcamp.com/track/comfort-in-your-strangeness-2

Its quite hard to pin down her genre because it blends a lot of styles. She also is a very talented guitarist, as she did most of the guitars on her albums.

Hope you would enjoy her music.
