Finally giving Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky a try
Now, after two years, returning to The Expanse with Cibola Burn
In the meantime, going back to horror with Ghostland by Duncan Ralston
This was really good. Will be reading the sequel soon, but in the meantime, starting on a summer project with Harry Potter and The Methods of Rationality by Eliezer Yudkowsky

17 chapters in and it's really good so far. Also, reading Maeve Fly by C.J. Leede

Not sure why I delayed getting this for so long being a fan of the band since 92. I also regret not getting the first edition when it was out with the bonus CD and the photobook.

The Discord of Gods by Jenn Lyons - time to finally finish the series.

Parallel to that, Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik

Finished both.

The Discord of Gods was curious, I felt like the author rushed the last few entires in the series. The first two books seemed like they were meticulously planned, the last three seemed like the author was brainstorming it. While the third book came out fairly well-rounded, the last two I don't know, I wasn't too big of a fan. Solid series but could've been much better.

Spinning Silver, well I liked the premise and I liked the main storyline with Miryem, but I didn't really care about the rest of the characters.

Now onto The Book That Wouldn't Burn by Mark Lawrence
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Some recent updates:

1. The Wishing Game by Meg Shaffer. Really good

2. Finished the Ghostland series with Infinite. It was decent, but really should have just been a stand alone

3. Finally finished The Making of The Empire Strikes Back. Will probably be reading Jedi in August

4. Read the latest volume of Saga, such a good series. Looking forward to Vol. 11 in October

5. Currently, getting back to The Expanse, with Nemesis Games

The Lies of Locke Lamora - Scott Lynch

I'd forgotten most of the details of the story, so my reread was just as wonderful as my first time through it. Might just be my favorite book ever. And now...

Red Seas Under Red Skies - Scott Lynch

All About Me! My Remarkable Life In Show Business by Mel Brooks

Now that looks interesting!

I just got done with a reread of Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett. I haven't read it in twenty years. I didn't much care for it the first time around, but had a much better experience this time around. Now, sadly I had to DNF Yumi. It wasn't working for me, so instead I'm hoping for a better time with Skyward. Oh, and huge thumbs up to Mel Brooks' book. So good

Ended wrapping up the month with Under the Red Hood by Judd Winick. Always loved the animated movie, so it was cool reading the comic. Going to start off August with an epic reread: Swan Song by Robert McCammon

Now onto The Book That Wouldn't Burn by Mark Lawrence

There were some incredible moments, but the book was such a slow burn until the ending. The first half was all setup and I thought I'd have to DNF it a couple of times. Still, I'm glad I persevered and I'll probably read the second book when it comes out.

Taking a few days break from reading and then I'm on vacation come Monday! Been saving a copy of Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson for the occasion.

Just finished "The Stand"... never gets old.  I paused the Dark Tower series after "Drawing of the Three" and read The Stand; back on the series with Wastelands now.

Also reading "Modern Man in search of a Soul" by Jung when I need a break from fiction.

Probably the most interesting thing I've read this year is "The Electric State" by Simon Stalenhag... the story shines as brightly as the art in my opinion.

I've had it on the shelf for awhile but in anticipation for the second movie I've been reading Dune. I attempted it many years ago but didn't get far but now I'm really intrigued by it. From what I remember of the first movie it seems like it was a really faithful adaptation.

I was enthralled by the spiritual aspect of the books and of the credo Paul uses to calm himself (reminds me of the Gunslinger's creed)... the book grabbed me from the beginning and I'm hoping to see more of the spiritual side of the story in the second film (as in the second half of the book).

The first film was very faithful to the source material in my opinion.

Finally finished Swan Song. It was still enjoyable, but could've been 200 pages shorter. Anyway, back to Brandon Sanderson with Starsight, I also started The Making of The Return of the Jedi by J.W. Rinzler, and Fae and Fare: book 2 of The Wandering Inn by Pirateaba
