Moon Over Soho by Ben Aaronovitch. Doesn't really grab me but it's relatively short so I will probably finish it.

The Dragonbone Chair by Tad Williams. I think I gave this an attempt two years ago, but I don't think I got very far. Maybe got distracted by something else

Warming up to Anathem as the events finally start to unfold after ~200 pages of worldbuilding.

In unrelated news, my mother called me today and said she's rereading To Kill a Mockingbird for the third time. I gifted her that book two years ago thinking she would like it. That really warmed my heart.

That Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series is still his best imo. But it takes a while to get going.

Yeah, that's why I'm going to make a real effort to stick with it. I was a big fan of Otherland (I'd rate the final book in that series easily in my top 20 fav sci books), so I really want to enjoy this as well

Currently Reading Necroscope III: The Source by Brian Lumley. I really like this series so far and I just don't understand why the series is so hard to find. My library system only has the first one and the only copies of the sequels I can find are the mass paperbacks from 30+ years ago. I would've thought that a series that's been around for so long would have more editions released by this point.

Rereading The Lies of Locke Lamora before I start Red Seas Under Red Skies and Republic of Thieves.

Consecutively, I mean, not simultaneously.

I'd like to do this at some point, but with new Jim Butcher, Joe Abercrombie and Brandon Sanderson books coming this fall I guess I'll do it in 2021.

Enjoy! I'd like to go back in time and experience those books for the first time. You may need to power through the first bit of Lies. It's kinda...difficult (?). Soon, it graduates to a real page turner though.

RESURS is my favorite.

The first time through I found it a little slow at the start, but once the Salvara game starts I was into it the rest of the way.

Also, I plan on getting Rhythm of War, but I'm thinking of not reading it until book 5 comes out. Usually I reread the series in preparation for the next book, and I think it makes more sense to wait for book 5 and then go through them all right after the other, since the first five books are meant to be sort of a complete story arc.

DNFed Tad. I just couldn't enjoy it. Switching over to a Star Trek novel, Federation by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens (which I'm really liking so far)

Good luck man. It's less about intensity and more about exploration but I think you may like it. It's my favourite Le Guin book tied with The Dispossessed. I think both are brillliant.

Finished Necroscope III. Really enjoyed it but like fellow horror writer Stephen King Lumley could've chopped about 100 pages out without losing much. I don't mind the extra details but I could see how it could drive others away.

Devil Red by Joe R. Lansdale: The 8th entry in the Hap & Leonard series is short and sweet.....although maybe a bit too short as I was able to read it in about a day. As usual the back and forth banter is great and the book tows the line between horrific and hilarious.

Currently Reading The Road to Ruin by Donald E. Westlake. The Dortmunder series of books is one of my personal favorites and it's a bit sad that I dont have many left before I get to the end of the series. They're always guaranteed to get a few laughs outta me.

Really enjoyed Utopia Avenue, but it got a bit weird at the last 100 pages. Still, it's my favorite Mitchell so far (granted, this was only my fourth book I read of his)

Hef, I bought this for my Kindle last night. I got about 20% through it before going to bed. I absolutely love how Woodward just presents straight reporting. No spin. No opinion. Just conversations that he's verified through multiple sources or documentation. Fascinating read!

The Hierarchies by Ros Anderson. From what I'm understanding by the synopsis It's a book about a sex bot who over the course of the book becomes more aware of the world and who she should be. A Goodreads review said it was a combination of Westworld, Ex Machina, and Handmaid's Tale

Finished up to the end of Callahan's story in DT5, édition français. Maybe a touch of a controversial opinion, but Wolves is the best Dark Tower book. This is my 4th read in as many years, and it gets better each time.
