thanks to the quarantine, I've read 60 books so far during this tempestuous time. Anyway, time to get back to fiction with Pope Patrick by Peter de Rosa

Ghost Story by Jim Butcher. Five chapters in and I don't know if I like the premise of the story.

So I finally finished this. Like I feared from the start this book never really grabbed me. One of the more mediocre entries to the Dresden series imo.

As I said, the fanbase seems 50/50 on that one, and I guess DTF isn't an exception :)

Started Malice by John Gwynne. Not sure I am ready to dive in to a complex fantasy novel at this time. Check back with me in a week.

So about 1/4 the way in. Not fully engrossed in the story but at the fail-safe point now and enjoying it enough. Deciding to trudge on.

Just finished. Enjoyable, but not captivating. Curious enough to know what happens in the rest of the series, but only enough to hope someone can tell me, not enough to read further.

On to Mycroft Holmes by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar(!) and Anna Waterhouse.

In the middle of a decent biography on Elton John, by Philip Norman.   Well-written, exhaustively researched, and while not "authorized", close enough for guv'mint work.   The only downside is Norman himself; famous for his intense dislike of Paul McCartney (despite having authored what many call the definitive biography on The Beatles, "Shout!"), he makes no bones about his feelings for the subject.  He seems to admire Elton, but not without pause, and some of the "shots" taken seem petty (for example, he has a penchant for noting Elton's height - or lack thereof - and there are incessant references to Elton's "pudgy fingers".)

Very funny. Still have 1300 pages to go.  Also, going to be diving into These Are the Voyages: TOS Season One by Marc Cushman, an extensive BTS look at the first season of Star Trek

Finishing up Gettysburg: The Last Invasion by Alan Guelzo.  Just started in on Directorate S: The CIA and America's Secret Wars in Afghanistan and Pakistan by Steve Coll.  Also working through the collected works of H.P. Lovecraft.  I have a short attention span.

So I stopped reading "The Forth Turning".  It got repetative and boring, and it's plausibility got less adn less the more I read.  So... Since I turned 42 this year, I will read the Hitchhikers trilogy.  I figure it's just something I have to do :).  Plus, I need a good funny read considering all that has happened this year so far.  I've read the series before but it's been a while.
