Starting The Great Book of Amber by Roger Zelazny. Let's see if I can finish all ten books
The original 5 book series is one of my favorite of all time, and I still re-read it every few years.  I think it would make a fantastic film or Netflix series.

The second 5 book series is a sequel to the originals, and it is good too, just not godlike like they are (IMO).  Of course, I read the original 5 a LONG time before the second 5 were written, so I may be biased.

I've actually been meaning to read these books for a very long time. I just popped over to Amazon and ordered The Great Book of Amber to add to my collection. I'm excited to get started on them in a few days.!

Shadows of Self is good. Pretty different in tone from Alloy of Law, but I really enjoyed it. Can't wait until Bands of Mourning is out.

Well, between Christmas, the New Year, my birthday, and then getting a cold that is still holding me back a little, it's been hard to read as much as I'm used to. I finished Stephen King's The Dark Half a few days ago. Pretty good. Really picked up in the second half. Started reading Andy Weir's The Martian right after. Really liking it so far, but I'm not very far into it since I've been mostly hopped up on NyQuil this past week. Now that I'm a few chapters in and I'm on the tail-end of this cold, I'm hoping to finish it soon.

Finished King's The Bazaar of Bad Dreams.  That was a lot of fun.  He is an exceptional writer of short stories, and I love his collections.

Now reading Dean Smith: More Than a Coach, a collection of pieces issued by The Charlotte Observer.

Finished The Courts of Chaos, so I'm done with the first half of the Amber books. Taking a bit of a break before reading the second half, and giving Blonde by Joyce Carol Oates a try

They were very solid books. I gave each of them 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. I'd definitely recommend them to any fantasy lovers, and Corwin is a very well written protagonist. I loved his "voice"

Well, I'm back to reading geeky books.  I'm reading The Book of GNS3, the new updated CCNA Study Guide (I have my CCNA already but I'm re-familiarizing myself with some things I haven't used in a while, and Mastering Wireless Penetration Testing for Highly-Secured Environments. As for what I'm reading while on the subway, I was thinking of reading Paradise Lost.

The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell which is not bad so far, I read Slade House last November and enjoyed it so now going through his other books.

Also reading The Stupidest Angel by Christopher Moore on my commute to work, I am loving that, so I will need to go to his previous books as well.

Over Christmas I read The Magicians Trilogy by Lev Grossman. I did a trip to the US where I purchased The Magicians at Borders. It sat on my shelf for years and when I finally had the urge to read it I loved it, then read The Magician's King and The Magician's Land, they were all great books and I hope they are made into a movie soon.

Next up Stephen King, The Bazaar of Bad Dreams .. he never disappoints .. great to hear people have read it here have enjoyed it!

Read this last summer and really enjoyed it. I've also read all of his other books, excepting The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet and the newest Slade House.

He's my favorite author at the moment; I absolutely love his style.

You'll have to let me know what you think of it.

Any Jonathan Lethem fans in here? Just finished Motherless Brooklyn and read Fortress of Solitude a few months ago. Highly recommendable, literary detective and coming of age stories, respectively. That coming from someone who doesn't normally like coming of age stories (might even say, despises).

I just finished The Bone Clocks this afternoon...boy was it long, compared with Slade House, it was good, quite different than what I normally read.
The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet I will read after Stephen King and the new Dean Koontz.

Strata by Terry Pratchett. This is obviously the book where he came up with the idea of a flat earth that later evolved into his disc world stories.
