I Finished The Arctic Incident (Artemis Fowl #2) by Eoin Colfer. These aren't just good YA books they are entertaining for people of all ages. Interesting world with memorable characters and fantastically paced. If adult me loves these so much this would've been child me's favorite series.

the Rick and Morty comics (issues 1-8.) If you like the show this is just more of that. Some of the filler issues aren't very good though.

Jim Cornette Presents: Behind the Curtain – Real Pro Wrestling Stories by Jim Cornette and Brandon Easton. Say what you want about Corny but the man is a historian and this delivers exactly what it promises. A couple true stories from back when kayfabe ruled the land and people would risk anything for the sake of the business.

The Library Policeman by Stephen King. The third story from the "Four Past Midnight" collection. Started out really strange like something that should've been written before King got sober and not after but as it goes on more things click into place and I ended up liking it more than I thought it would by the end. Still not what I would call must read but I was pleasantly surprised.

The Crow (special edition) by James O'Barr. Has the same issue as the movie where I love the overall story and style but the dialog ain't great. Still worth a read if you enjoy the movie.

Currently reading What's So Funny? (Dortmunder #14) by Donald E. Westlake. The second to last book in the series before Mr. Westlake passed away in 2008. These books have a special place in my heart and have been there for a dependable laugh even when I didn't have much to laugh about. Going to be a sad day when I finish the series but I don't think anybody else would be able to do them justice so I'm glad nobody took over the series.
Do you read Sutter Cane?

Rereading The Shining for my monthly King project. Also, finally giving The Doors of Eden by Adrian Tchaikovsky a try. It's been a hot minute since I read a full length book by him

Just finished up with the nine books in Joe Abecrombie's First Law world. Love almost all of it. I wasn't initially down with the setting of the second trilogy, but Joe's ability with characterization and dialog dragged me along until the setting became irrelevant. What a great writer and world builder.
"Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are God. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are God.” — Christopher Hitchens

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

I will ALWAYS recommend this one. It's such a great read.

Here are my 2024 books so far:
The Measure by Nikki Erlick - 4.0
The Poppy War #1 by R.F. Kuang - 3.75
Upgrade by Blake Crouch - 3.5
Unexpected Stories by Octavia E. Butler - 3.0
Long Chills and Case Dough by Brandon Sanderson - 4.25
Iron Flame - The Empyrean #2 by Rebecca Yarros - 4.0
A Conjuring of Light - Shades of Magic #3 by V.E. Schwab - 3.25
The Gathering Storm - The Wheel of Time #12 by Brandon Sanderson, Robert Jordan - 3.75

Feb additions:
The Will of the Many - Hierarchy #1 by James Islington
Fun! Unexpected ending! Can't wait for the next one - 5.0

Six of Crows #1 by Leigh Bardugo
Interesting world with an Oceans 11 set up, kinda felt like I needed to start with Shadow and Bone while I was reading though. Will continue the series - 4.0

Towers of Midnight - Wheel of Time #13 by Brandon Sanderson, Robert Jordan
Some much needed plot closures starting. Excited to be finished with this series - 4.0

Shadow and Bone #1 by Leigh Bardugo
Definitely should have started here for the Grishaverse, but enjoying the world. Very interested to see where this goes - 4.5

The Witch of Duva - Grishaverse #0.5 by Leigh Bardugo
Creepy short story, decent enough - 4.0

Howling Dark - Sun Eater #2 by Christopher Ruocchio
I will not continue this series. This book was slow, overwritten, and pompous. The main character is xenophobic/transphobic and I do hope part of the story is him learning to not be... but I just can't do any more of this series - 1.5

A Memory of Light - The Wheel of Time #14 by Brandon Sanderson, Robert Jordan
I'm done!!! Well aside from the short prequel which I will get to shortly. I would not recommend this series to anyone, even though I did finish it. Books 5-10 were ROUGH. The writing is not great, female characters are awful, too many plot lines and side characters added throughout. Due to all that, there was no way the final book was going to live up to the hype and it didn't. However, after spending 2 years with these characters, I still want to know what happens to them after. Brandon Sanderson was the only reason I pushed to finish this thing and he made it at least mostly worth it - 4.25

Currently reading:
Abaddon's Gate - The Expanse #3 by James S.A. Corey

Re-reading War and Peace having read it once about 12 years ago. Good stuff.

Hefty.

Very slow going though. I go through phases with reading where I'll read three books in a week, then have six months where I struggle to slowly get through one book

Took 4 years, but I finally finished Rhythm of War By Sanderson. I did enjoy it but to go from reading the first 3 in days as they came out... nothing to do with the books just... life and how it changes. Sometimes you have time and want for something  then you don't.
I read other stuff in between, one of which was the trilogy of Ash and Sand by Richard Nell.
Enjoyed that and really love the character of Ruka.     Meat is Meat. Ha, right off the bat I was intrigued.
Now he has a another trilogy in same world Beyond Ash and Sand and read a free snippet the other day so will dig in to the first book.

Had to pull a french re-read from the shelf.  All the libraries in town are closed due to a labor strike.

Burning Land by Bernard Cornwell

While I certainly enjoyed this book, I'm not sure I'm finishing this series. All in all the stories are too samey imo and there are seven more books to go.

Lost In A Good Book by Jasper Fforde. Not yet really sold on this series, the first one was okay, let's see if this is better.
